2023 Ford Bronco Raptor Unofficially Confirmed Via Engineer's Job Description

Sometimes, big news has a funny way of breaking. Rumors have persisted in recent months that Ford was planning on eventually offering a Raptor version of the all-new 2021 Ford Bronco, but to this point, they were just that – rumors. Now, however, we have a bit of a confirmation to share about the existence of the 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor, but it’s coming from a very unusual place.

That place is a Ford EDS System Engineer’s job description from LinkedIn. In the engineer’s experience section under his current job, plain as day, lies a giant piece of news, interestingly enough. “Currently designing EDS system – schematics for 2021 Bronco / 2023 Bronco Raptor, using E3 (Zuken) for schematics that help produce the harness prints,” the description reads.

Clearly, this engineer missed the memo about not revealing the existence of a future product, or perhaps never received it. Either way, this is a pretty solid indication that the 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor is happening, and when, exactly, it will arrive. Otherwise, why include it in a professional job description, unless they’re just trying to mess with us?

The Bronco Raptor figures to be an even more capable machine than the already-capable Ford Bronco, with the addition of things like Fox shocks and other suspension tweaks. It would presumably follow the same formula as the Ford F-150 Raptor and Ranger Raptor, designed as a high-speed desert runner with unique styling and interior treatments.

As far as power goes, a rumor surfaced back in June that the Bronco Raptor would be powered by Ford’s 3.0L EcoBoost V6, the same engine currently used in the Ford Explorer ST and Lincoln Aviator. In either guise, it produces 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque, but it’s unclear if those numbers might change if/when it sees duty in the Bronco Raptor.
