Clint Bowyer Will Trade His Firesuit for a Business Suit after the 2020 NASCAR Season

Another significant silly season domino has fallen in advance of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season.

Clint Bowyer will trade his fire suit for a business suit, confirming via social media on Thursday night that he would retire from full-time competition at the end of the season, and instead move to the broadcast booth with FOX Sports.

Bowyer has driven the No. 14 for Stewart-Haas Racing since the 2017, amassing two of his 10 career victories with the organization in 2018 at Martinsville Speedway and Michigan International Speedway. Before joining the team owned by Gene Haas and Tony Stewart, Bowyer raced for Michael Waltrip Racing and Richard Childress Racing.

His best season came in 2012 when he was the Chase for the Championship runner-up with three victories in the No. 15 for MWT. He broke through into the Cup Series with RCR with a single race in 2005 and full-time the following season.

Bowyer has started to spend more time in the FOX Sports TV booth in recent seasons, regularly calling Xfinity Series for the networks, his affability and outlandish personality making him a natural behind the camera and on the microphone.

Stewart-Haas Racing did not reveal who will take over the No. 14 next season, but all signs point towards Xfinity Series championship contender Chase Briscoe, who leads the standings with eight victories this season.
