Historic Route 66 has been the topic of numerous books, and seen in all manner of television shows and movies over the decades. If you’ve never driven any portion of the Mother Road that originally connected Chicago, Illinois with California, you owe it to yourself to experience it directly in part or in whole. Driving the complete Route 66 from start to finish is truly a bucket list item for many automotive enthusiasts and now you have your chance with the 2018 HoonDog Legend Lives Tour II and Bullitt Nationals presented by the HoonDog Performance Group.
The Legend Lives Tour II runs May 25th through June 3rd, 2018 and features an unforgettable route on Route 66 through eight states. The event starts in Chicago, Illinois and ends at the Santa Monica Pier in California. Each day will be made up of interesting stops along Route 66 and plenty of historic landmarks as well. Group activities and dinners each night will be the perfect way to enjoy your time with your fellow Mustang travelers as well.
Once at the culmination of the trip the group will attend the 2018 Friends of Steve McQueen car show at Boys Republic, the Chino Hills, CA boy’s school that turned McQueen’s life around after attending as a teen in trouble. Part of the annual show this year will be the “Bullitt Nationals” so expect a lot of Bullitt-themed Mustangs to be on the tour and at the show itself—both classic and modern iterations for sure! Besides Boys Republic, this event will also benefit other HoonDog Performance Group charities like Make-A-Wish Michigan, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
Registration is just $50 and includes a t-shirt, dash plaque, registration pack with Route 66 Tour Guide and a goody bag. Additional T-shirts are available for purchase separately. Host hotels for each night are already locked in with special rates (see list below for reservations) and registration is open now at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2018-hoondog-legend-lives-tour-ii-and-bullitt-nationals-tickets-42010332034?aff=es2 or hit www.hoondog.com for further details.
