Remember, the trails will be waiting when this is all over.

Remember that hilarious Jeep Gladiator commercial from the Super Bowl? You know, the one that saw Bill Murray reprise the character of Phil Connors from Groundhog Day? (Also, doesn't the Super Bowl LIV halftime show feel like forever ago?) Well, Jeep's got a new spot that builds on its Super Bowl ad's Groundhog Day theme and it's called "Same Day."

The ad opens with title cards that read, "We understand that every day is starting to seem the same," and then cuts to a clock just as it flips to 6:00 am. Suddenly, we see Murray warily eyeing his hotel room from side to side and deciding to stay in bed while Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe" plays from the radio. New title cards appear, which tell viewers to "Stay home, stay healthy," and adds that "when this is all over the trails will be waiting." Unfortunately, no one told that to the person (Phil?) driving the Wrangler Unlimited that pops up at the end of the ad.

That said, it's a well-done spot and a great reminder to stay at home during the current pandemic. Social distancing sure is tough, but there's strong evidence that shows things could be much worse if we leave the safety of home too soon. Watch the new spot below, and get a look at the original Super Bowl ad below.
