Built in the Motor City...

By RK Motors - May 23, 2018

I’m in Detroit for work for a few days, and it’s always great to be back in the Motor City. Dinner at Vinsetta Garage, a stroll around the Henry Ford Museum and DIA, and of course checking out lots of old cars. Ponder some serious Wiki data about this car-building capitol: In the 1950s, Automobile manufacturing became the largest industry segment in the entire United States, and the largest ever created; the US auto industry was many times larger than the automotive industries of the rest of the world combined, and by 1960, one-sixth of working Americans were employed directly or indirectly by the industry… And it was all headquartered right here in Detroit. Case in point, here’s a Chevrolet promotional film from 1952 helping to explain how much the auto industry provided to our entire country at that time.

Yes, things have changed quite a bit around here, and the old girl might have lost some luster, but there’s still some fire in the Motor City’s belly… And they still love cars in this town!
