2023 Ford Ranger Front End Spied With Blended Maverick, F-150 Styling

Over the last few months, Ford Authority has reported extensively on the forthcoming 2023 Ford Ranger, which is set to undergo several updates over the current-gen model. In recent weeks, Ford has been revealing more and more of the new model, most recently posting a video of the pickup conquering some off-road obstacles, followed by a much more revealing teaser. However, to date, we haven’t seen much of the 2023 Ford Ranger front end, until now.

These new 2023 Ford Ranger front end photos give us our best look yet at the forward portion of the future mid-size pickup, which is quite a bit different than the current-gen model. Like the rest of the 2023 Ranger’s body, the front end features sharper lines and an overall look that blends styling elements from the 2022 Ford Maverick and 2021 Ford F-150.

The headlights feature the familiar reverse C-shape that’s become synonymous with modern Ford pickups, while a pair of horizontal bars intersect the center of the grille, with a Blue Oval right in the middle. The oval-shaped upper grille is joined by a similarly-shaped lower grille, which is flanked by two smaller portions containing circular fog lights.

As previously seen, the 2023 Ranger prototype wears light camo with glow-in-the-dark reflective patterns and large QR codes on the sides, thicker taillights, a single antenna (a dual antenna setup is expected for U.S.-market Rangers), and a sports bar in the bed.

The 2023 Ford Ranger is expected to be accompanied by the off-road-focused Ranger Raptor for the very first time in the U.S., and will also gain a plug-in hybrid variant in the coming years as well. Production of the 2023 Ranger is expected to begin at the Ford Michigan Assembly Plant in May 2023 following the pickup’s full reveal, which should happen before the conclusion of 2021.
