All-New Third-Generation 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor Teaser Drops: Video

By Brett Foote - Jan 29, 2021

We’ve learned a lot about the all-new, third-generation 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor in recent months, and spied several prototypes out testing as well. Now, we’re only a few days away from the truck’s official launch on February 3rd, and a new 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor teaser is giving us a pretty good sneak peek at the forthcoming model.

“The all-new third-generation F-150 Raptor is coming…See for yourself 2/3/21,” the caption for the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor teaser video reads. The clip begins off with the red Raptor’s front lighting kicking on in dramatic fashion, with the opening riffs of Metallica’s Enter Sandman playing in the background. Then, we see the truck driving across some rugged terrain for just a few seconds before the video ends.

It’s a short but intriguing teaser that actually gives us a pretty good look at the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor, surprisingly. Though it’s dark, we can clearly make out the truck’s new front end, which features many of the same styling elements of the 2021 F-150. That includes its reverse C-shaped headlights, an amber LED signature, and the Raptor’s signature front grille with “Ford” lettering and three amber lights at the top.

Based on the all-new 14th generation 2021 Ford F-150, the next-gen Raptor will obviously feature many of the same goodies it offers for the new model year, including a heavily revised interior. But perhaps the most exciting thing about the 2021 Raptor is the fact that it will be making a return to V8 power, as Ford Authority exclusively reported back in 2019.

But it won’t be just any old V8 resting under the hood of the new Raptor. Rather, as we reported last August, the rugged off-road pickup will in fact be the recipient of a slightly detuned version of the Ford 5.2L Predator V8 used in the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, producing somewhere between 725 and 750 horsepower.

The next-gen Raptor will also be available with a modified version of Ford’s 3.5L EcoBoost V6, which is the sole powerplant offered in the current-gen Raptor. However, it’s the V8 version that’s bound to attract the most attention from enthusiasts, and it sounds great, as we’ve heard on not just one, but two separate occasions recently.

In addition to those V8-powered models, we’ve also spied a number of F-150 Raptor prototypes in recent months that have revealed the forthcoming pickup’s cool off-road tech features and new coil spring suspension setup.
