Description

As nice as investment grade first generation Camaros are, it seems EVERYONE either owns one or knows someone who owns one. And as much as we enjoy seeing blue chip F1s come through our doors, it's always great to find a pristine classic that's built to enjoy. Being the avid Camaro fan that you are, you probably know finding a cool first gen isn't all that hard. But the chance of scoring a well-done classic for less than six figures is becoming increasingly difficult. Luckily, since the passionate gearheads at RK Motors Charlotte specialize in F-Bodys of every flavor, we can offer you great opportunities like this awesome 1969 Camaro Super Sport. Featuring a stout big block, an original Muncie 4-speed and a classic Garnet Red over houndstooth color combination, this SS is a razor-sharp muscle car that's ready to kick your summer off right! If you're in the market for a classic bowtie that can be enjoyed without fear, don't miss the chance to own this awesome Chevy!

The beneficiary of a professional, frame-off restoration, this sweet Camaro's slick, Garnet Red profile is the product of A LOT of time spent sweating details. From its solid panels to its straight stripes, every inch of this former stoplight king displays craftsmanship that's nothing short of immaculate. Not surprisingly, every one of the car's seams has been aligned to better-than-factory fit. When you step close to its mirror-like body, you'll find flat surfaces that are a product of years of easy miles and generations of immaculate care. And ultimately, it all adds up to one very well done classic that's right at home reflecting a summertime car show!

With classic proportions and modern detailing, Chevrolet's first generation pony car is an inherently good-looking design. At the front of this coupe's body, a bright silver grille hangs a bold “SS” emblem between traditional halogen headlights, a showroom-fresh bumper, crystal clear parking lamps and a stylish D80 chin spoiler. Above that grille, a chrome-trimmed Super Sport hood rides between a familiar “Camaro by Chevrolet” header emblem and like-new glass that's bordered by a combination of straight stainless trim and matte-finished wipers. At the sides of that hood, sculpted fenders combine with a correct chrome mirror, traditional chrome door handles, familiar RS quarter louvers and a correct array of emblems to add just the right amount of detail to the car's deep red profile. And at the back of those fenders, a traditional, satin black valence hangs segmented taillights and a fourth “SS” emblem between an optional decklid spoiler and a second showroom-fresh bumper.

If you wanted to factory-order a top-of-the-line Camaro in 1969, you had one option: 396 cubic inches of big block Detroit iron! At the top of this impressive Chevy mill, a chrome, correctly decaled air cleaner funnels wind into a big 4-barrel carburetor that's threaded into a painted Edelbrock Performer intake. At the sides of that intake, spotless chrome valve covers reflect fresh 7mm Suppression Wires above correct heads and fully restored exhaust manifolds. At the back of those valve covers, a reproduction points distributor rides between a rebuilt wiper motor, a new coil and a fresh Delco Moraine brake booster. And, opposite that distributor, a heavy duty radiator sends coolant around a shrouded fan via pliable hoses and reproduction tower clamps. Naturally, this Chevy's impressive engine bay, comprised of smooth, satin black fenders, correct gray hardware and new, factory-accurate decals, is clean and 100% detailed. The Chevy Orange block features a typical array of stainless lines and textured ancillary pieces. And everything, from the car's modern power steering to its reproduction Delco battery, displays an overall excellent appearance.

The car's ferocious big block slings torque to a tough 12-bolt rear end through an original Muncie 4-speed that hangs a correct 3925660 casting number behind a matching partial VIN and Muncie (P) M20 (A) assembled on April (D) 19th (19) of 1969 (9) build stamp. Holding that legendary drivetrain off the ground is a freshly rebuilt suspension that sports 100% factory specifications. Included in that suspension is modern, aftermarket power steering and mandatory power front disc and rear drum brakes. Exhaust flows from the aforementioned manifolds into stainless, true-dual pipes that bark through an H-shaped crossover and rowdy Xlerator turbo mufflers. Putting the power to the pavement is a classic set of American Racing Torq Thrust IIs which spin 225/45ZR17 BF Goodrich G-Force Sports in front of 245/45ZR17 BF Goodrich G-Force Sports. And the car's fresh, satin black floors, which are restored to better-than-new condition, feature a full array of finishing components.

Inside this cool F1 you'll find a fully restored White Houndstooth interior that's definitely one of the most stylish cockpits to ever roll out of a GM design studio. The completely rebuilt front bucket and rear bench seats feel as firm as the day they left the showroom, perfectly complementing a tight black headliner, like-new carpet and color-keyed, “Camaro” branded floor mats. In front of those seats, a straight and crack-free dash hangs an optional tachometer and modern Pioneer CD player above deluxe wood trim. At the sides of those seats, deluxe white door panels hang pristine stainless trim and new chrome hardware below correct “Camaro” emblems. Between those seats, a traditional black console anchors bright wood trim around a chrome Hurst shifter and Chevrolet's well-known accessory gauges. In front of the driver, a satin-spoked steering wheel laps a red, white and blue horn button. And behind the passengers, a fully restored trunk sandwiches a custom back panel between correct decklid decals and a correct houndstooth mat.

In summary, this awesome Super Sport represents classic American muscle at its very finest, combining stunning design with no-limits performance. Put it on the backroads… Take it to the local cruise… Take it on the Hot Rod Power Tour… Whatever you elect to do with this cool Camaro, it's sure to be the centerpiece of your collection, the focal point of your garage, and, most importantly, the car you most look forward to driving and being seen in!
