Good Guys Nationals First Place Bel Air 383 Pro Touring
This national award winning Bel Air is a highly detailed, well-executed custom that impresses in literally every way.
Featuring a straight and solid profile, this old school Chevy wears a super clean restoration that's a first class example of professional craftsmanship. The car's fit and finish is exceptional, highlighting its brilliant red paint. And not only does that mirror-like pigment present well from all angles, it provides a living testament to the allure of stellar design and American ingenuity.
Under the car's hood, a show-detailed engine bay displays a perfect blend of painted and polished components. The engine itself is a Grant Springer 383 that marries a broad power band with seemingly endless torque. That power comes courtesy of roller rockers, aluminum heads and a Holley Stealth 4-barrel. And stainless headers dump spent gases into a big, true-dual exhaust system.
As previously stated, the car's body is solid steel that's been rotisserie restored to very high standards. That body rides on a custom frame that's been completely wrapped in glossy two-stage. At the front of that frame, chrome, tubular control arms trace familiar coilover shocks and power rack and pinion steering. At the back of that frame, a nine inch Ford rear end spins tall 3.90 gears inside a modern 4-link setup. Behind the engine, a TH700R4 4-speed slings power to the pavement. And at the corners, meaty BF Goodrich G-Force T/As spin stylish Billet Specialties wheels around power disc brakes.
As spectacular as this tri-five's body and drivetrain are, its interior borders on art. Stitched from the hides of free range European cattle, the car's leather is rich and luxurious; trending more toward '21st century royalty' than 'mid-50s Americana'. And just when you think you've taken it all in, layers of incredible detailing continue to pique your attention.
Striking, tasteful and ready to roll, this custom Bel Air is a world class trophy winner. We'd like to thank the car's happy new owner for choosing RK Motors Charlotte for all his octane-fueled needs. Here's to many years and many more miles behind the wheel of classic Motown metal!
