Delivered to Sloan Motors in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, this completely unrestored coupe has been carefully protected by one family of avid Mustang fanatics. Over the last 43 years, the car's solid body has seen a few small repairs that continue to endure Mother Nature's worst temper tantrums. That body's paint is exactly what you'd expect from four decades' old pigment, reflecting a satin sheen that sports a lot of character. And today, this Ford rolls as an impressive piece of storied Dearborn history that's guaranteed to win fans and start conversations!

For 1970 the Mustang received a smoother body, a less aggressive face, a flat rear valence and a variety of balanced trim tweaks. The idea was to tame looks that some believed were hindering sales and better the car's performance in crucial Trans Am events. At the leading edge of this old school pony, an original grille hangs bright headlights and ornate sport lamps between subtle 'fender fins', a clean bumper, clear parking lights and a new chin spoiler. At the top of that grille, a familiar Ford scoop leads the eye to clear glass that's framed in satin-finished wipers, correct sport mirrors and straight stainless trim. At the sides of that glass, re-fashioned fenders corral expressive “Mustang” scripts and original Mach 1 rockers in chrome-trimmed marker lamps and classy chrome door handles. And at the back of those fenders, an original valence anchors an ornate fuel filler and segmented tail lights between wide-set reverse lamps, a “mach 1” tape stripe and a second clean bumper that's complete with a Sloan Motors call-out.

Under this tried and true Ford's blacked-out hood you'll find an original, 351 cubic inch Cleveland V8 that maintains correct factory specifications. As one of the most popular small blocks ever created, the venerable 351C H-code utilizes high performance heads and smooth hydraulic lifters to turn stout compression into a respectable 250 horsepower and solid 355 lb./ft. of torque! At the top of the proven mill, a big 2-barrel carburetor rides under a correct single-snorkel air cleaner that wears fresh paint and new decals. Below that carburetor, a cast iron intake anchors a chrome Accel Super Stock coil and traditional points distributor between fresh “Power By Ford” valve covers and new 7mm Hi-Temp Radio Suppression cables. Below those cables, free breathing, long-tube headers funnel spent gases into high performance, true-dual pipes while a re-cored radiator cycles water through pliable hoses and updated clamps. As you can see, the largely untouched engine bay still wears original Satin Black skin. All the motor's correct ancillary components, from vintage hood insulation and optional power steering to a requisite washer tank and fresh Autolite Sta-Ful, are present and accounted for. And, if you're a hardcore authenticity buff, the car's original exhaust manifolds ARE included with its sale.

Naturally, the bottom of this awesome time capsule has seen its fair share of all-weather road trips. Behind the motor, what appears to be an original Cruise-O-Matic 3-speed spins a once marked driveshaft to a durable Ford 9-inch and agreeable 3.00 gears. Holding that drivetrain off the ground is an original Mach 1 suspension that's equipped with fresh Monroe shocks. At the ends of that suspension, optional power steering combines with manual drum brakes to mix easy turns with solid stops. Above that suspension, Bright Gold Metallic floorpans wear a mild layer of dealer-optioned undercoating, just as the car left the showroom. At the center of those floors, a fresh exhaust system pipes roasted dinosaurs through an H-shaped crossover and great sounding Flowmasters. And at the edge of those floors, original Argent wheels spin meaty 205/75R14 Yokohama Avid Touring whitewalls around stainless trim rings and dent-free center caps.

Inside this Mustang you'll find an endearing Ginger interior that features vintage vinyl, pleated seats and a roster of well-preserved accents. The car's dash is loaded with original gauges, which include a factory clock, and features wood grain trim that's still nice to look at. An original chrome shifter rides between a straight console and correct Philco radio. Below that shifter, factory mats and chrome Ford sills protect surprisingly clean carpet. Opposite those mats, a tight headliner frames factory shoulder belts. The driver carves the road via an original, wood-rimmed steering wheel. At the sides of the passengers, original door panels display reasonable wear, given 43 years of frontline warfare. And behind the cockpit, a matted trunk hides a correct jack and full-size spare beneath an original decklid decal.

In addition to the aforementioned window sticker, this classic's sale includes:

* An original dealer order
* An original sales invoice
* Two original warranty cards
* An original owner's manual
* Maintenance receipts
* A Chilton's manual
* A Haynes manual
* A recent appraisal conducted by Fraser Dante Limited
* Original exhaust manifolds

If you're looking for some storied Detroit metal that has a ton of character and, unlike most muscle cars, retains a bit of exclusivity, this survivor is your car! There's surely no more than a handful of these unrestored cruisers left, and finding one that's preserved to this level is next to impossible. Whether you're stepping out to a cool Friday cruise in or rolling up to a sunny Saturday parade, this Mustang is guaranteed to draw stares and attract fans!
