One of two volume models for the current Porsche line up, the Panamera is essentially a luxury sedan that veils some of the brand's best engineering in classic styling elements. At the front of the car, a familiar stretched nose hangs a fancy Porsche crest between translucent rock guards, bright HID headlights and an aggressive, showroom-fresh fascia. At the top of the car, pristine greenhouse glass is bordered by sculpted mirrors, chrome-trimmed door handles and classy satin frames. At the sides of the car, mandatory markers blend right in to silver brake ducts, outboard fender ridges and slab-sided body panels. Naturally, the car's visual testosterone is backed up with plenty of power from the engine room. Those snails result in an impressive output of 500 horsepower and 516 lb./ft. of torque. And thanks to the motor's careful tuning, that power comes on both strong and steady. Those stellar numbers add up to a jumbo-size land rocket which is capable of brisk 3.8 second 60 MPH sprints and a quarter-mile time of 12.1 seconds. The engine's substantial torque provides power throughout the RPM range, creating a very drivable car anywhere from open freeways to rush hour commutes.
