14,309 Mile One Owner Panamera Turbo 4.8L V8 7 Speed
Is there any sports car manufacturer that's remained truer to its heritage than Porsche? The brand has single-handedly built an 82 year legacy out of performance-minded engineering while designing some of the most endearing cars ever produced. And today, as one of the most respected automobile entities on the planet, they enjoy a tremendous following that's spawned a positively gigantic support system. Back in 1988, Dr. Ulrich Bez' 989 concept kick started the marque's foray into more balanced offerings. But it wasn't until the advent of this Basalt Black stunner that the company got serious about following the market. Displaying only 14,308 original miles, this 2010 Panamera Turbo wraps a high tech V8 and 7-speed PDK transmission in world class luxury. If you're looking for a cool modern car that's comfortable, sporty and virtually guaranteed to be exclusive, this low-mileage tourer is just your style!
By mixing an unconventional body with familiar traits and proven performance, the Panamera introduced Porsche to a whole new clientele, completing the brand's transition from hardcore sports cars to SUVs and sedans. Dressed in a classy coat of subdued urethane, there's no doubt this swoopy saloon puts a fresh twist on a traditional favorite. The car's pristine body, which is refined enough to carry 007 on a crusade against terror, has been meticulously pampered and protected since it rolled off Porsche's Leipzig, Germany assembly line. Its professionally finished surfaces are straight, solid and still possesses every bit of the drama and tension Harm Lagaay's original design inspired. Fit and finish are the typical, high quality stuff you'd expect from a flagship automaker. And today, only three years into life, this awesome Turbo is one of the coolest cruisers on the planet!
One of two volume models for the current Porsche line up, the Panamera is essentially a luxury sedan that veils some of the brand's best engineering in classic styling elements. At the front of the car, a familiar stretched nose hangs a fancy Porsche crest between translucent rock guards, bright HID headlights and an aggressive, showroom-fresh fascia. At the top of the car, pristine greenhouse glass is bordered by sculpted mirrors, chrome-trimmed door handles and classy satin frames. At the sides of the car, mandatory markers blend right in to silver brake ducts, outboard fender ridges and slab-sided body panels. And at the back of the car, a “Porsche Panamera Turbo” script rides between a small spoiler, flush-fit tail lamps, a smooth valence and quad-outlet exhaust tips.
With sports car performance in a Grand Touring package, this Panamera is definitely a way to have your cake and eat it too! Naturally, the car's visual testosterone is backed up with plenty of power from the engine room. In Generation I guise, this well-equipped Turbo features a 4.8 liter V8 that, not surprisingly, benefits from twin turbochargers. Those snails result in an impressive output of 500 horsepower and 516 lb./ft. of torque. And thanks to the motor's careful tuning, that power comes on both strong and steady. Those stellar numbers add up to a jumbo-size land rocket which is capable of brisk 3.8 second 60 MPH sprints and a quarter-mile time of 12.1 seconds. The engine's substantial torque provides power throughout the RPM range, creating a very drivable car anywhere from open freeways to rush hour commutes. And, based on appearance, the silky mill has been meticulously maintained and carefully driven.
As one of the automakers that pioneered nimble, rear wheel drive powertrains, Porsche has been generally praised for their exceptionally athletic platforms. Take one look underneath this svelte cruiser and you'll see just how much work went into its Nurburgring-proven engineering. The car's independent front and multi-link rear suspension has been augmented by adaptive air struts, extensive use of aluminum and the adoption of Porsche's Active Suspension Management System. Power flows from the smooth motor into a 7-speed Doppelkupplungsgetriebe dual-clutch transmission --- that's PDK, for short. At the corners of the floor, giant, slotted rotors, which slide through beefy 4 and 6-piston calipers, ride behind 19-inch wheels and meaty Continental ContiSportContact 3s. The bottom of this basically new Porsche looks spectacular and probably hasn't been touched for anything other than basic maintenance. And you can drive the car with the confidence of knowing that there aren't any hidden surprises waiting for you down the road.
Inside this slick Panamera, it's all about a symbiotic relationship between cutting edge European performance and traditional 'old world' luxury. At the center of the car, leather-lined seats, which are trimmed in attractive aluminum, show hardly any wear at all. Between those seats, a stylized center stack frames a high end sound system that's complete with both Bluetooth and navigation. At the base of that center stack, like-new carpet, which is protected by thick, “PORSCHE” branded floor mats, anchors a full-length console and aluminum-trimmed shifter between attractive, “Turbo” branded sill plates. Above those sills, tight-fitting door panels cap rich wood trim with polished aluminum handles. In front of the driver, a handsome, leather-trimmed steering wheel spins bright accents around a colorful Porsche crest. And throughout this inviting cockpit you'll find the usual assortment of luxury and convenience features we've all come to expect in high end automobiles.
The sale of this German fastback includes a full array of factory books & manuals.
Highly civilized and extremely potent, this clean Panamera is a no-compromises exercise in world class touring. Still luxurious where it matters, with serious performance underneath, it offers virtually limitless fun without degrading ride quality or driver comfort. If you're looking for a modern rig that's plush, reliable and guaranteed to be exclusive, this silky Porsche is the car for you!
