Ultimate Mustang GT Pro Touring 545 V8 6 Speed A/C
In the world of pro-touring there are cars that have great street presence, and then there are cars like this sinister '67 Mustang: wicked manifestations of high octane and pure adrenaline! Masterfully camouflaged in Shelby-esque regalia, and stunning in absolutely every regard, this killer pony car could be the ultimate big block Ford. With one twist of its key, a 545 cubic inch V8 roars to life, shattering any thinly veiled subtlety into a million pieces. And when rubber hits the pavement, a custom suspension and beefy Tremec 6-speed afford a steady diet of modern performance cars and lesser muscle cars. The product of a $200K build that was completed in March of 2013, this Ford is the stuff dreams are made of. And if you visit the upcoming "RKM Collector Car Auction":http://www.rkmcca.com in Charlotte, NC you can bring those dreams to life!
With most muscle cars there's usually a single element that catches your eye long before anything else. But with this stunning Mustang, EVERY piece works together to create a virtual symphony of automobilia. The foundation of that symphony is a solid, all-steel body that displays super smooth surfaces and laser-straight style lines. Once that body was painstakingly perfected, six coats of Spies Hecker black were detailed with Spies Hecker red and sealed in ten coats of Spies Hecker clear. That paint clings to tight panel fitment, which puts factory-original cars to shame. That fitment reflects a world class finish, which is so deep you'll swear it's perpetually wet. And today, this Ford rolls as a lust-worthy homage to both highly skilled craftsmanship and significant historic purpose.
Speaking of history, many enthusiasts credit Carroll Shelby with introducing some of the coolest and most aggressive Mustangs ever created. So, it's seems only natural that many of the world's best customs are largely influenced by his legendary GT500. At the front of this pony's body, a Shelby R-style nose hangs billet grilles behind modern H4 headlights, small driving lamps and familiar PIAA fog lights. At the top of those grilles, a custom-fabricated hood bridges the gap between seamless headlight buckets, a shaved cowl panel and like-new glass that's framed in subtle black trim. At the sides of that glass, a shaved and flared profile hangs pristine, bullet-style mirrors between shaved drip rails, One Piece Products windows and custom quarter scoops. And at the back of the car, Shelby-style extensions frame Cougar tail lights, a body-matched bumper and snazzy, chrome-trimmed reverse lamps that highlight custom-fabricated quarter skirts.
There's an inherent honesty that comes with classic car ownership. This isn't politics or sports; when we talk big, we stick to our word. And if you're going to build a car that LOOKS like it'll scorch the earth, you better have a big box of matches. Toss this awesome Mustang's hood and you'll find a 545 cubic inch Ford V8 that's been thoroughly tweaked, bathed in a slick coat of matching red paint and dressed in some of the best components on the planet. At the top of the mill, a body-matched air cleaner stuffs wind into a high performance Mass Flo fuel injection system. Below that Flo, an Edelbrock Victor 46 intake feeds ported and polished Edelbrock Performer RPM heads that are finished with a billet oil cap and custom, body-matched valve covers. Below those heads, a Comp hydraulic cam creates explosive combustion with the help of a billet Mallory distributor, quality Taylor plug wires and a beefy double roller timing set. At the sides of that cam, ceramic coated headers send vaporized dinosaurs into brutal sounding, true-dual exhaust pipes. And in front of those headers, a Billet Specialties Tru Trac system spins a polished Powermaster alternator, a polished Sanden AC compressor and a painted Edelbrock water pump above snazzy, Canton-juiced power steering. Cooling for the massive powerplant is provided by a polished Be Cool Extreme which, thanks to its perforated support, hangs between a polished Be Cool condenser and two Spal puller fans. Fuel is provided by a Mass Flo 255 LPH Internal Complete Supply System that's threaded to braided hoses and a small Summit pressure gauge. The custom-mounted engine rides in a smoothed and braced bay that's fitted with slick EMS hinges and detailed to match its super slick shell. And the enlightened Ford enthusiast will immediately spot cut and reversed shock towers that significantly aid the car's tenacious performance.
The bottom of this killer Ford is just as impressive as its clean exterior and sleek engine bay. Behind the brutal big block, a fresh Tremec T56 Magnum wears an SFI approved QuickTime scatter shield. Lift the third pedal and an 11-inch Science Friction Street Slayer twists power to a FAB9-sleeved Ford 9-inch that spins a rugged Detroit Truetrac, 3.89 gears and stout Strange axles. Stopping is a cinch thanks to a power-assisted Wilwood system, which mixes red, 6-piston calipers with custom e-brake cables and 13-inch drilled and slotted rotors. Exhaust is handled by custom, ceramic coated pipes that terminate at reinforced, side-mounted tips. At the front of the car, tubular control arms and VariShock coil-overs combine with a thick Chassisworks roll bar and Total Control Products steering to provide razor-sharp handling. At the back of the car, a Chassisworks g-Bar suspension utilizes Grave Robbers mini tubs, more VariShock coil-overs and a splined Chassisworks roll bar to provide excellent grip. In the middle of the car, a sturdy Total Control Products center support combines with welded Total Control Products g-Connectors to stiffen thoroughly massaged floors. At the corners of the car, power flows to the ground through polished Boze Injecteds, which spin 245/35ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As in front of 285/30ZR20 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As. And every detail, from this slick Mustang's painted fuel tank to its high capacity oil pan, is carefully planned and professionally executed.
Open this pony's solid-fitting doors and you'll find a tasteful custom interior that was installed by the pros at Street Seats in New Port Ritchey, Florida. Firm bucket seats, modern units that have been covered in fine leather and detailed with polished buttons, feel all day comfortable. At the sides of those seats, custom door panels hang classy handles and subtle metal accents above long, sculpted armrests. In front of those panels, a thoroughly modified dash centers silver Auto Meter Pro Comp Ultra Lite gauges between a tightly stitched pad, Vintage Air climate control and a large Pioneer touchscreen. Beneath that dash, a custom, leather-stitched console anchors a chrome Indy shifter behind Focal K2 speakers, Focal tweeters and simple power window switches. Beneath that console, new California carpet bridges the gap between Wilwood foot pedals, shiny Ford sills and a 4-point roll bar that's fitted with 4-point Simpson harnesses. At the back of that carpet, a leather-lined cargo hold founds a combination of Rockford Fosgate and Kicker amplifiers beneath JL Audio subwoofers and Focal K2 speakers. In front of the driver, a polished and half-wrapped wheel spins around a painted and tilting column. And behind the passengers, a custom-upholstered trunk bends the car's red on black color scheme around a centered Hagan fuel door.
The sale of this first class Ford includes a small stack of build manuals.
Swift and equally seductive, this Mustang sets the bar for top-of-the-line pro-tourers. If you're the kind of gearhead who demands the best, and understands that quality doesn't compromise, you're well aware of the bliss this car offers. Stunning to look at, thrilling to drive, and exceptional to show, it's a state-of-the-art masterpiece that'll remain timeless thanks to smart design and immaculate craftsmanship.
