Description

Cars like a 1932 Ford Roadster never go out of fashion; and when it comes to being a street rod owner, there's no time like the present! Virtually anyone with big ambition and an even bigger checkbook can build a completely custom classic with killer good looks and ground pounding performance. But, if you're an astute enthusiast who doesn't want to dive off the deep end and spend half your kid's college fund, RK Motors Charlotte has you covered. This intense '32 Ford Roadster is a professionally built cruiser that mixes the best attributes of a 'velvet rope and red carpet' showpiece with the streetability of a well-tuned muscle car. Beneath its crowd gathering all steel body, you'll find a reliable V8, a 3-speed transmission and a whole lot of other top notch hardware that makes its $59,900 list price even more unbelievable than its unbelievable PPG flame red paint. If you're looking for a fully-sorted street rod that mixes classic good looks with modern road manners, you've found your next car!

When you set your sights on creating a top-notch roadster, you have to start with a team of professionals who know a little bit about building cool cars. Thankfully the folks at Altered Motion know a thing or two about building immaculate street rods, and this '32 proves that. Their project began with an all-steel Rod Bod body. That stunning body's smooth vertical panels and arrow-straight profile were sanded into Kansas-flat surfaces and covered in a striking coat of PPG Flame Red paint. Then a tasteful pinstripping was added that runs the length of the Ford and adds a fantastic look to the flame red paint. Today, with only sunny summer miles on its fully-sorted build, this awesome Roadster has the kind of unique style and eye-popping appeal that'll drop jaws anywhere it goes!

Everything on this slick Ford is exceptionally well-done, and the car has just the right amount of detail to turn heads and create a lasting impression. At the front of its body, A flame red frame horns hold a custom spreader bar below a spotless stainless grille and chrome headlights. At the top of that grille, the hood runs to a SoCal windshield that's accented by a heavy chrome frame and small stainless mirrors. At the sides of that hood, a characteristically clean and simple profile presents shaved door handles, hidden door hinges and uninterrupted form. And at the back of that profile, a small, Cool Cap fuel filler rides above the rear tail lights and a tag bracket. It's hard to miss a classic Ford roadster, and this car has an identity all its own thanks to a cohesive theme, careful workmanship and exceptional attention to detail.

For the benefit of both reliability and performance, traditional street rods often feature souped-up versions of proven powertrains; and the 350 cubic inch GM crate engine V8 under this Ford's small steel hood mixes ample power and excellent drivability. At the top of the mill that was painted to match the body, a large Holley 4-barrel carburetor integrates oxygen from the short air cleaner, into a steady stream of fuel that travels through polished stainless lines. At the back of that intake, spark is supplied by the MSD ignition, that sends power to an MSD distributor that shoots spark through the high quality Taylor plug wires. At the sides of that distributor, stunning stainless steel shorty headers swirl spent gases into a great sounding, true-dual exhaust system. In accordance with its fully detailed exterior, nothing was missed under the hood of this sharp '32 Ford. Without question, everything is fully sorted and ready to go!

Under this roadster's well-planned and professionally executed powerplant you'll find a whole catalogue of custom performance parts that mix great visual aesthetics with excellent driving dynamics. For starters, a chrome front suspension, combines with a traditional solid axle rear suspension, which features chrome coil over shocks, to produce modern ride and handling characteristics. At the center of that first-rate chassis, hangs a tweaked Turbo-Hydramatic 350 3-speed between a chrome pan, a chrome flywheel cover and a custom Ford rear end that's stuffed with 3.90 innards. Quick stops are provided by Wilwood disc brakes at all four corners. A killer soundtrack is provided by a custom stainless true-dual exhaust system that's sends the spent gasses out just behind the rear axle. Torque splits the asphalt thanks to 16” and 17” Budnik aluminum wheels which spin BF Goodrich Comp T/A Rubber. Details like high quality stainless hardware and a 14 gallon RCI aluminum fuel cell highlight the car's top notch form with excellent function.

Inside this awesome '32 'simple' is the name of the game. The custom leather interior was installed by Portage Trim, and accents the vibrant red body very elegantly. At the center of the body, the leather bench seat is firm and provides great support. In front of that seat, a bright red dash hangs classy SoCal gauges above pinstripping that matches the outside of the vehicle. At the sides of that dash, custom, leather panels hang feature hide away pouches and tan door handles. Below those panels, high quality carpet is protected by matching floor mats. In front of the driver, a polished Budnik steering wheel spins a leather rim around a ididit steering column. And behind the passengers, a completely upholstered trunk features enough storage for chairs, a small cooler and the car's nightly trophy take.

This rad roadster's sale includes plenty of restoration photos

In short, this spectacular '32 Ford is the perfect street rod for someone who wants a fully-sorted cruiser that'll tear up the roads and take home trophies. The work is done, the money is spent, and the result is a great-looking car that you can drive home for a fraction of its original cost. If you're looking for a professional build which features an unbeatable combination of classic looks and modern technology, you've found your next car!
