----------

Here at RK Motors Charlotte, we sell A LOT of first generation Camaros. In our current inventory, we have many investment grade and numbers-matching cars that are perfectly suited for trailering to shows or parking in museums. However, as much as we enjoy historic pieces that embody the philosophy of time warp, we're also red-blooded octane junkies who love selling cars that can actually be driven as they were intended. With that in mind, this '69 Camaro resto-mod, with its awesome green and white shell, ground-pounding ZZ427 and classic houndstooth interior, will turn driving your collector car from a hobby into an obsession! If you're looking for some classic Detroit metal that wraps big time speed in one of the best looking packages to ever roll onto American streets, take a close look at this Chevy!

BODYWORK/TRIM

Fully sorted and ready for years of endless cruising, this silky, real-deal Super Sport is the beneficiary of a thorough rotisserie restoration. Once the coupe's body was massaged to better-than-new condition, a brilliant coat of correct Rally Green 2-stage was accented with white Super Sport fender stripes. And traditional Rally Sport aesthetics were complemented with Detroit Speed headlights, a ZL-2 cowl induction hood, dual chrome mirrors, correct quarter trim and a D80 spoiler package.

ENGINE

Peer in to the car's painted and polished engine bay and you'll find a 427 cubic inch GM Performance Parts ZZ427 crate motor that twists stout 10.1 to 1 compression into 480 horsepower and 490 lb./ft. of pavement-busting torque. Oxygen and dinosaurs enter the combustion chambers through a “TURBO-JET” branded air cleaner, stainless fluid lines and a coated Holley carburetor. Below that carburetor, an aluminum intake feeds 110cc oval-port aluminum heads, which wear attractive Proform valve covers and classy Chevrolet push-ins. Below those valve covers, aluminum roller rockers feed forged aluminum pistons, forged steel rods, a forged steel crank and a hydraulic roller cam. At the back of that cam, a familiar HEI distributor shoots spark through eight GM Performance Parts plug wires. Below those wires, Hooker Competition headers maintain performance while creating deep, lust worthy acoustics. At the front of those headers, a beefy aluminum radiator flows coolant past two electric puller fans thanks to GM-branded hoses and a proven Edelbrock water pump. And, in front of that pump, a March serpentine system spins a polished alternator opposite modern power steering.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Park this Chevy on a lift and you'll find solid, Rally Green floorpans that provide a fitting backdrop for fresh, first rate hardware. Behind the buff big block, a tough Hurst shifter linkage kicks a storied Muncie 'Rock Crusher'. That 4-speed twists power to a 12-bolt rear end, which spins a posi-traction differential around stout, 3.73 gears. Beneath that drivetrain, a completely rebuilt suspension employs Hotchkis coil springs and welded Detroit Speed subframe connectors behind a thick Hotchkis sway bar. At the corners of that suspension, power-assisted calipers squeeze four drilled and slotted rotors. Charred dinosaurs float from the aforementioned headers in to a 2.5-inch Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust system, which positions chambered 80 Series mufflers behind an H-shaped crossover. And torque transitions to pavement through chromed American Racing Torq Thrust IIs, which spin 235/45ZR17 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs in front of 255/45ZR17 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs.

INTERIOR

Inside this cool coupe you'll find a correct Ivory Houndstooth interior that has to be one of the most stylish cockpits ever created. TMI-upholstered front bucket and rear bench seats, which feature deluxe headrests, frame a factory console that's fitted with a chrome Hurst shifter and 4-pack accessory gauges. A pliable, crack-free dash, which flows in to Standard door panels, frames deluxe telemetry that includes a 140MPH speedometer, a 6,000RPM tachometer and a small clock. In front of the driver, a handsome Rally wheel spins around a tilt steering column. Vintage Air climate control and Custom Autosound audio make good use of American Autowire wiring. And behind the passengers, a new mat, new jack and full-size spare tire inhabit a fully restored trunk.
