Exclusive to the ZL1, and Cadillac's world-beating CTS-V, the LSA utilizes an aluminum block, stainless exhaust manifolds, a low-lift cam, modified heads and 9 psi of Eaton boost to twist 580 horsepower into 556 lb./ft. of earth-moving torque. This impressive mill is an excellent example of why some people believe today is the second golden age of performance. And, dressed in a cool, LSA-exclusive shroud, it shows surprisingly well. Mechanically, there are no leaks or squeaks of any kind, and the car's engine bay appears just as clean as the day it rolled off GM Canada's assembly line.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Take a look under this Zeta-based Chevy and you'll find a slick-shifting Tremec TR6060 6-speed that's suspended in a proven, road-ready chassis. Found in everything from the Dodge Viper to Saleen Mustangs, that T56-derived gearbox utilizes larger gears to deliver better durability and improved torque capacity. That torque flows to a limited slip rear end that's fitted with beefy 3.73 gears. That drivetrain plays well with a lowered, Nurburgring-tested suspension, which benefits from Performance Traction Management and GM's universally loved Magnetic Ride Control. A sweet but equally brutal soundtrack is provided by Chevrolet's dual-mode exhaust system, technology made popular by the C6 Corvette. Variable-ratio power steering, big Brembo calipers and giant, vented rotors combine with factory ABS and electronic brake distribution to ensure this is the best handling street-focused Camaro to date. And power pounds the pavement via forged aluminum wheels that spin 285/35ZR20 Goodyear Eagle F1s in front of 305/35ZR20 Goodyear Eagle F1s.

INTERIOR
