It was the car that everyone talked about, everyone wanted and everyone drooled over. Just imagine jumping in Bandit's Trans Am, putting the pedal to the floor, tearing across the open road and out driving virtually anyone who tries to stop you! The generation that loves these 'birds has been moving into the collector car hobby over the last five years and will continue to do so for the next twenty. As a result, second generation Trans Ams have been steadily gaining value since 2007. It's a documented, numbers matching real deal Y82 that's equipped with Pontiac's highly desirable W72 400 engine, a 4-speed manual transmission and, best of all, it's a one-owner, 11,500 mile car! BODYWORK/TRIM

Cared for by one, meticulous, female-owner, This '77 Trans Am features 100% original sheet-metal that has seen only a professional repaint and restriping by the Trans Am Museum during it's pampered life. Being completed just last month, that correct, code 19 Black paint has been dressed with new, Special Edition striping, including the iconic bird that graces the hood. With virgin body panels wearing new paint and new decals, this Trans Am looks like it just rolled of the Norwood assembly line where it originally started life. And all of the authentic, Y82 touches are present such as gold headlight surrounds, gold bird decals on the sail panel, Germanic style “Trans Am” lettering, gold wheels, and the quintessential gold with matte gold hood decal, accented with the outlining stripes around the car. And those Hurst t-tops feature original weather stripping that still appear fresh and in better condition than what many late-model cars have to offer.

ENGINE

Lift the hood and you'll find this Pontiac's all-original 6.6 liter W72 V8 which wears a correct casting number, a correct partial VIN and a correct W72-exclusive "WA" engine stamp. All the hard parts around the motor, from the belt driven accessories to the brake booster and optional air conditioning hanging on the firewall are mostly original and, of course, factory correct. The gold anodized brake booster still shows the factory-marked green stamp. The hoses are even believed to be the ones installed from the factory. And as expected tags, markings and stamps are just where they should be from the date coded core support that proudly displays the original emissions tag to the car's clean cowl tag.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

At the bottom of this car, original, red oxide floor-pans tell the story of years of excellent maintenance. Behind the motor, a VIN stamped, assembly-line installed original Borg Warner T10 4-speed transmission sends power to an original 10 bolt rear end that wears its original markings. Trans Am suspension, which includes power steering, thicker sway bars, better shocks and stiffer springs combines with standard issue power front disc brakes and original rear drums to provide quick stops and great handling. Even the leaf springs wear their original tags. Pontiac snow flake wheels spin Special Edition exclusive gold paint around 'red bird' center caps and Uniroyal GR 70-15 tires.

INTERIOR

Open the doors and you'll find a black, vinyl interior that wraps Special Edition-exclusive gold trim in a whole lot of old school style! Besides the headliner, nearly everything remains in original condition, including the gold dash bezel and 3-spoke steering wheel, a further testament to just how well this car has been cared for. Out back, the trunk retains the original mat and jack assembly. Given the incredibly good condition of this Trans Am, the doors and trunk lid shut with a solid thud, expressing the quality that is often found on German automobiles.
