----------

As nice as investment grade first generation Camaros are, it seems EVERYONE either owns one or knows someone who owns one. And as much as we enjoy seeing blue chip F1s come through our doors, it's always great to find a pristine classic that's built to enjoy. Now, being the avid Chevy fan that you are, you probably know finding a cool Camaro isn't all that hard. But, scoring an outstanding resto-mod for cheaper than the high five-figure mark is becoming increasingly difficult. Luckily, since the passionate gearheads at RK Motors Charlotte specialize in F-Bodies of every flavor, we can offer you great opportunities like this awesome Victory Red F1. Featuring a stroked small block, a modern 700R4 transmission and a thoroughly upgraded suspension, this coupe is a super cool muscle car that's ready to end your summer with style! If you're in the market for a classic bowtie that can be driven and shown without fear, don't miss the chance to own this head-turning Camaro!

BODYWORK/TRIM

The beneficiary of a ground-up, rotisserie restoration that was completed in late 2010, this X11 Super Sport is the product of A LOT of time spent sweating details. From its straight panels to its DuPont Victory Red 2-stage, the car's rock-solid metal displays immaculate craftsmanship that was completed by Dannie Cox of Ramseur, North Carolina's Cox Racing Engines. Not surprisingly, every seam on this Main Street king has been aligned to better-than-factory fit. When you step close to the car's mirror-like pigment, you'll find flat surfaces that have traveled a mere 2,500 miles since they were stripped to bare metal. And ultimately, it all adds up to one very impressive classic that looks right at home reflecting summertime car shows!

With balanced proportions and crisp detailing, the first generation Camaro is an inherently good-looking design. At the front of this coupe, a familiar Rally Sport grille hangs electric Detroit Speed headlights above a color-keyed bumper, clear parking lamps and a Spoilers by Randy chin spoiler. At the top of that grille, a Camaro-branded header leads the eye to a ZL-2 cowl induction hood, satin-finish wipers and like-new glass that's framed in straight stainless trim. Below that hood, the car's smooth profile centers Fesler door handles and body-matched F2 mirrors above small marker lamps, tweaked fender emblems, traditional quarter louvers and stainless rocker spears. And at the back of that profile, slick Fesler taillights illuminate a D80 deck spoiler, a second color-keyed bumper and a fourth “SS” badge.

ENGINE

Hoist this Chevy's Fesler supported hood and you'll find 383 cubic inches of Chevrolet small block that's wedged inside a clean, highly detailed engine bay. Built by Cox Racing Engines of Ramseur, North Carolina, this stout mill makes enough full-tilt power to smoke any trash-talking motor mouth! At the top of the block, a glossy air cleaner hangs a reusable filter element above a large Holley carburetor and clean stainless fuel lines. Under that carb, an Edelbrock RPM Air Gap rides between aluminum Brodix heads, which hide high quality roller rockers under painted Proform valve covers. At the back of those heads, a Comp hydraulic roller cam twists a Pertronix Flame-Thrower distributor, which sequences fire between an MSD Blaster coil and thick Cox Engines wires. At the sides of that cam, coated Dynatech headers make quick work of charred dinosaurs. At the front of those tubes, a March serpentine system spins an AC Delco alternator and modern power steering at the sides of a proven Weiand water pump. And in front of that pump, a big aluminum radiator cycles coolant around a spry SPAL puller fan and Fesler-secured Optima gel cell. Virtually every facet of this Camaro's fresh engine bay has been taken from a 10 to an 11. And even the small details, like a polished cowl cover, Fesler fender supports, a polished Chevrolet breather and a trick CV Products thermostat housing, are well planned and well executed.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

The ferocious small block twists torque through a TCI Super Street Fighter 700R4 that's strung between an aluminum driveshaft, a TCI lock-up torque converter and a G-Force crossmember. That transmission spins a proven Moser 12-bolt that's fitted with 4.10 gears and a Truetrac posi-traction differential. That tough driveline rides behind a powder-coated front clip that's enhanced with Hotchkis tie rods and tubular Hotchkis control arms. The car's powder-coated pumpkin hangs between proven Ridetech shocks, tough Hotchkis leafs and quality Detroit Speed mini tubs. That first-class suspension sits inside Touring Classics fifth generation Corvette brakes, which utilize power-assisted “Camaro” branded calipers to squeeze drilled and slotted rotors. Exhaust floats from the aforementioned headers in to large-diameter pipes, which center an X-shaped crossover in front of rowdy MagnaFlow mufflers. Power meets the pavement through polished Budnik Ice, which spin 245/40ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force Rivals in front of 335/30ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force Rivals. And the car's clean, Satin Black floors feature top-notch finishing components like a painted fuel tank, a polished transmission pan and welded sub-frame connectors.

INTERIOR

Open this Camaro's solid-closing doors and you'll find a mildly customized interior that wraps a nice blend of classic style and modern convenience around Cerullo bucket seats. In front of those seats, a monochromatic dash hangs slick Dakota Digital VHX gauges above an MP3-compatible RetroSound head unit. At the base of that dash, a traditional F1 console frames snazzy VHX 4-pack gauges in front of a factory horseshoe shifter. Below that console, high quality floor mats protect plush loop carpet. At the edges of that carpet, Standard Camaro door panels center small armrests between Fisher sill plates, billet jamb vents, Billet Specialties window cranks and bright stainless trim. In front of the driver, an “SS” branded steering wheel spins a think rim around satin-finish spokes. And behind the passengers, big Polk Audio speakers join a matched rear seat to hide a super clean trunk.
