----------

If you're like most of us gearheads, you go to countless car shows and take in hundreds of cool cars with plans of building one trophy winning street rod that you can REALLY be proud of. Naturally, your custom will feature all the cool tricks you've seen on other cars rolled into one awesome package. It'll have the perfect stance, a top notch powerplant, a leather-lined interior and buttery paint that reflects the perfect combination of style and sophistication. The problem is: haven't you been saying this very same thing for the past five years… ten years… has it already been twenty years?! It seems that you're a little long on the planning and WAY overdue for some octane-fueled fun. At RK Motors Charlotte, we believe classic cars are built to be enjoyed, not planned to be enjoyed. And this slick '32 Ford Coupe is a complete 'smart buy' that'll fulfill your needs faster, and cheaper, than any car you've spent years idealizing. Why prolong enjoyment when this sweet street rod, with its 515 horsepower LS3, custom Kugel suspension and leather-lined interior, is ready to turn all your dreams into reality?

BODYWORK/TRIM

This hot 3-window's smooth body, which began life at Outlaw Performance in Avonmore, Pennsylvania, is some of the best technology the industry has to offer. Fully reinforced, hand-laminated and completely cured to ensure quality that's consistent with steel, its solid fiberglass panels display a level of fit and finish that inspires complete driver confidence. Of course, to successfully execute any ultra-clean street rod means you need to go the extra mile and get everything laser-straight. And fortunately, the guys sanding on this slick Ford had a deep appreciation for their work. Hours of dogged dedication created a perfect canvas for a spectacular coat of Mercedes silver 2-stage. And today, this stunning custom is a swell of virtually unbroken reflections that create one subtle yet impressive classic!

Of course, subtle doesn't necessarily mean skimping on the details. This well-executed coupe strikes an excellent balance between Ford's unique pre-war design and the monochromatic style of modern hot rodding. At the front of the car, Jim Rench headlight stands anchor Greening Auto Company headlights above a custom roll pan, braided wire sleeves and a custom Jim Rench grille. At the top of the car, a full Rootlieb hood flows to a chopped roof and fully smoked glass. At the sides of the car, a characteristically clean and simple profile hangs requisite power windows above shaved doors, notched running boards and trick, side-exit exhaust. And at the back of the car, a shaved decklid rides between bobbed fenders, a custom roll pan and Greening Auto Company taillights. There's certainly no mistaking a classic Ford shape, but this coupe has an identity all its own thanks to a cohesive theme, careful workmanship and exceptional attention to detail.

ENGINE

Hit the Hagan hood latch and you'll find 6.2 liters of all-American fury! According to the car's current owner, that smooth small block, officially known as General Motors' Generation IV LS3, creates a robust 515 horsepower. At the top of the crate-fresh special, a trick Billet Specialties air cleaner locks a reusable filter element onto a big Holley carburetor that's sequenced to a polished canister filter, braided fuel lines and a liquid-filled pressure gauge. That carb feeds a Hogan's sheetmetal intake that's bolted to factory GM heads, which are dressed in snazzy Billet Specialties valve covers. Beneath those heads, stock GM internals breathe through custom long-tube headers. At the front of those tubes, Billet Specialties serpentine components spin a color-keyed Edelbrock water pump between a polished alternator and small MQQN temperature gauge. There's a beefy Walker radiator that's fitted with a polished cap, a polished expansion tank and a giant electric puller fan. And all that road-tested performance rolls in classy, show-worthy aesthetics.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

As with its tight body, this Ford's first class chassis was supplied by Outlaw Performance of Avonmore, Pennsylvania. The spry LS3 turns a fresh Tremec 5-speed, which hangs a color-keyed bellhousing opposite a polished Inland Empire driveshaft. That tough driveline spins a $14K Kugel Komponents back-half, which makes good use of a quick change differential and four coil-over-shocks. That quick change pushes a polished Kugel Komponents front suspension, which sandwiches two more coil-overs between a thick sway bar and tough tubular control arms. That suspension turns thanks to lucid rack-and-pinion steering. Stops come courtesy of four polished calipers and drilled and slotted rotors. Spent gases roar through custom-fabricated, NASCAR-style exhaust pipes. Details like chrome fender supports, tubular cross braces and a polished oil pan finish smooth, body-matched floors. And all that incredible hardware rolls on Billet Specialties Legacy IIs, which spin 205/40ZR17 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As in front of 295/45R20 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As.

INTERIOR

Open this coupe's suicide doors and you'll find $12,500 worth of custom cockpit that was installed by Chuck Hanna of Mooresville, North Carolina's Hot Rod Interiors. Modified Acura buckets are supportive and feel soft enough to take a nap on. At the sides of those seats, custom door panels found sculpted leather armrests behind bright accents and simple billet hardware. Between those seats, a custom console centers a small Hurst shifter and modern Clarion audio on clean California Carpet. In front of those seats, a fully wrapped dash centers Classic Instruments All-American telemetry above attractive Kugel Komponents foot pedals. Above those seats, a custom headliner frames a small courtesy lamp. In front of the driver, a color-keyed Billet Specialties steering wheel laps a tilting Ididit column. And behind the passengers, an electronically actuated trunk pins custom upholstery behind enough luggage space for short weekend getaways.
