Want a super cool custom that's ready to show? How about one with a choice chassis, a heavily massaged body and a 425 horsepower Hemi? If the answer is a resounding “YES”, this 1937 Ford Coupe is exactly what you've been searching for! Featuring a traditionally clean appearance, a custom leather interior and a level of detail that requires multiple looks to fully comprehend, this SEMA-featured street rod is a top notch compilation of first class components. And what's better: it's a fully sorted, professionally finished cruiser that was built to parade with the best. If you're a fashionable enthusiast who wants an impressive classic that'll turn heads and drop jaws, take a close look at this stunning Ford!

Assembled from the ground up to be a SEMA show-stopper, this coupe's solid fuselage began life as high quality Minotti fiberglass that was smoothed, filled and chopped by Joe Stuben and Nashville, Tennessee's Greening Auto Company. Once sinuous and ready to roll, that resin was coated in glossy Burgundy 2-stage that lends the car a timeless, sophisticated presence. And in May of 2012, this Ford rolled right out of the shop and straight to Classic Auto Appraiser on its way to being valued at $285K.

The beauty of a well-done custom is often found in the simplicity of its execution. In a nod to the hobby's old school hot rodding roots, the best cars are usually topped with a stripped down, all-business body that emphasizes their purpose-built, high performance nature. So, when you craft a first class offering like this sweet '37 Ford, the best thing to do is simply enhance what's already there. Our enhancements begin with flowing fiberglass fenders, which center a custom Alumicraft grille between modern Porsche headlights that are finished with CNC-cut surrounds. Behind that grille, a smoothed and dropped hood anchors a custom curved and raked windshield in front of a tinted greenhouse that's capped by a 4-inch chopped roof. Below that glass, smoothed running boards frame shaved suicide doors that are actuated by small solenoids. Behind those boards, a shaved decklid reflects a monochromatic Ford emblem and classy LED taillights. And that buttery profile is highlighted by roughly $11K of plating and polishing work that includes small mirrors, stainless profile lines and traditional tail lamp bezels.

In the auto enthusiast world, there are few bigger faux pas than something that promises performance but doesn't deliver. “It looks fast” just doesn't cut it with real car guys, so the old school flathead that might traditionally power this coupe has officially been swapped for 6.1 liters of Chrysler's third generation Hemi. Utilizing aluminum construction, variable cam timing and increased-flow heads, the balanced and blueprinted mill, sourced from Street & Performance, is conservatively rated at 425 horsepower. At the center of the car's smoothed and filled firewall, a polished intake looks excellent between polished valve covers and smooth, Burgundy coil covers. A conical air filter combines with a Street & Performance throttle body to feed factory-spec internals. There's a custom, color-keyed radiator that rides between an efficient puller fan and a polished expansion tank. Custom wiring combines with trick dipsticks, a small K&N breather, Redhorse Performance hoses and a polished alternator to add both form and function. And with one twist of the key, the engine zings to life, pulsing rhythmic notes through ceramic-coated headers.

This Ford's polished profile and proven powerplant roll on a body-matched TCI Stage III chassis that's been assembled to exacting standards. The big-bore Hemi torques a tough Chrysler 45RFE multi-speed automatic, which spins a Ford 9-inch axle that's cased in a polished Currie carrier. That custom drivetrain pushes a polished 4-link suspension that's fitted with Ridetech coil-over-shocks. Opposite that 4-link, a polished independent front-clip employs 2-inch drop spindles and two more Ridetech coli-overs. Turns come courtesy of a stainless steering linkage, which swerves a power-assisted rack-and-pinion set-up. Quick stops are a cinch thanks to four polished calipers and big drilled and slotted rotors. At the center of the floor, coated exhaust pipes breathe through coated Magnaflow mufflers while a Street & Performance fuel pump drains an 18-gallon fuel tank. At the corners of the chassis, silver-detailed blades turn 215/40ZR18 Sumitomo HTR Z IIIs in front of 275/40R20 Continental SportContacts. And everything, from the car's polished oil pan and high-torque mini starter to its braided brake lines and finned transmission coolers, is well-planned, well executed and ready to roll!

Pop this classic's lightweight doors and you'll find a clean leather interior that was professionally installed by Krist Kustoms of Fort Wayne, Indiana. At ground level, wool carpet floats color-keyed floor mats beneath polished, Ford-branded foot pedals. In the middle of that rug, Ford-branded thrones feature full power adjustment for both the driver and passenger. Between those seats, an integrated roof console centers a small mirror and MP3-compatible Alpine audio above a custom floor console that frames a stylish shifter. At the front of those bins, a luxurious dash hangs a full array of Classic Instruments telemetry above knobs for Vintage Air climate control. At the sides of that dash, custom door panels front modern power windows with big speakers, polished handles and contoured armrests. In front of the driver, a polished and painted steering wheel laps a tilting Ididit column. And behind the cockpit, a surprisingly large trunk founds a small fuel filler in clean wool carpet, bright stainless accents and supple leather trim.

* A stack of build receipts
* The car's official Classic Auto Appraiser appraisal

Since so many gearheads are focused on building mail-order customs, this Ford isn't exactly something you'll see at every show. From a technical standpoint, it wraps an array of top notch components in a level of customization that simply isn't feasible for most enthusiast-built classics. Looking for a 2-person crowd-gatherer that barks through a raucous V8 and stares through a wicked profile? Call your friends at RK Motors Charlotte and pick up this incredible Ford!
