What do you get when you combine the aesthetic traits of an old school hot rod with months of professional customization? This incredible Ford roadster! Mixing the universal appeal of SoCal style with the road going prowess of a well-massaged custom, this slick classic is one impressive build that provides its owner the best of both worlds. And what's better: you can own and drive this exclusive show stopper for a fraction of the money and time it takes to complete a ground-up build. If you're an anxious buyer who's tired of the 'garage furniture' culture that seems to pervade the classic car hobby, this stunning Ford is one of the coolest road-ready hot rods your money can buy!
This clean custom's solid Brookville Roadster body began life as high quality steel that was worked into a lean, long and low profile by the pros at Mooresville, North Carolina's Man Made Legends. As you can probably tell, that process included a lot more than simple sanding and filling, as the car's taut fuselage was stretched over a custom frame with the help of careful channeling. When you want to paint a vintage Ford hot rod, it's best to go with vintage Ford pigment, like this roadster's 1948 Monsoon Maroon 2-stage. Finishing touches took the form of Ford Twolite headlamps, a simple tag bracket, blue-dot taillights and a body-matched window frame. And in the summer of 2013, this classic hit the road as a delightfully simplistic showpiece that mixes the skill of experienced fabricators with the integrity of experienced builders.
Check the glossy engine bay and you'll find 276 cubic inches of Ford 59A flathead that, thanks to approximately 200 horsepower, make this custom a blast to drive! An NOS short block that still wore factory tags prior to its inclusion in the build, that stalwart powerplant maintains rock-solid reliability in literally every season. On top of the timeless mill, mesh-covered Stromberg 97s jam steady wind and fuel in to a Navarro high compression intake. That intake perfectly complements Navarro high compression heads, which cap .125 overbored cylinders. Those cylinders combust with the help of adjustable lifters, an Isky 400 Jr. cam and a 4-inch Merc crank. At the sides of the block, monochromatic block hugger headers feed straight-out pipes that are cinched around brash Cherry Bomb glasspacks. At the front of the block, a dressed generator shades a traditional distributor, which sequences fire through chrome-cased Flathead Jack plug wires. In front of those cables, a beefy radiator, complete with dual electric puller fans, funnels water through polished stainless tubes. And everything, from the car's finned coil cover and chrome dipstick to its glass fuel bowl and Hildebrandt oil filter, is clean, simple and old school cool.
In keeping with its 'custom but functional' theme, this first class Ford rides a custom, fully reinforced chassis that's stanced out of 2x4 rectangular tubing. The rowdy flathead spins power through a tough T5 5-speed, which twists a Ford 9-inch axle around fresh 3.43 gears. At the head of those heavy duty components, a drilled I-beam axle provides four inches of drop. Opposite that roller, fresh QA-1 coil-overs plant the car's exceptionally light rear-half. That suspension counters the engine's grunt with a combination of 11 and 12-inch drums. And all that hardware rolls on matte-finished steelies, which lap 6.00-16 Coker-sourced whitewalls around stylized trim rings and polished Ford center caps.
Take a look inside this custom and you'll find a stylishly simple interior that, in the name of timelessness, has been carefully pieced together. At the center of the cockpit, leather-trimmed bomber seats wrap the driver and one passenger in nostalgic authenticity. In front of those seats, a body-matched dash hangs crisp Stewart Warner telemetry behind an Auburn-style, engine-turned instrument panel. Below that dash, piped wool carpet floats a polished Hurst shifter amid billet foot pedals and custom kick panels. At the sides of that carpet, padded leather doors frame trick poppers. In front of the driver, a polished Bell steering wheel spins a leather-wrapped rim. And behind the passengers, a small trunk anchors a modern battery in front of a sizable fuel tank.
This striking Ford is a nicely finished classic that was built to be driven AND seen. It uses top-notch customization from some of the best talent in the business to create a unique car that mixes killer personality with awesome curb appeal. If you're looking for a road ready hot rod that's guaranteed to draw a crowd wherever you go, your search is officially over!

What Customers Are Saying
After hearing good things about the people at RK Motors, I contacted them regarding consignment of my street rod. I found Tony Klein to be a pleasure to work with. He was very professional and forthcoming in our communications. He evaluated my vehicle and made suggestions of enhancements which would help ensure the desired result would be achieved in the marketing of the vehicle. We agreed on an acceptable sale price. Following the completion of the recommended items, I brought the vehicle to RK for consignment. After a thorough inspection and correction of some minor issues at what I considered a fair price, the vehicle was offered for sale. It sold quickly with me receiving the agreed value. I would have to repeat the recommendation that I received. RK Motors does what they say they will do, and obtains for the seller a fair and agreed value. What more could you ask for?Doug C.
