Want to know the best thing about being a Chevrolet fan? The fact that, over its 106-year history, the bowtie division has created great cars for pretty much everyone. Now, being the avid Chevy fan that you are, you probably know finding a cool Chevelle isn't all that hard. But, scoring an outstanding resto-mod for cheaper than the high five-figure mark is becoming increasingly difficult. Luckily, since the passionate gearheads at RK Motors Charlotte specialize in A-Bodies of every flavor, we can offer you great opportunities like this awesome Super Sport. Wrapping a spry big block and tough Tremec 5-speed in a 3-year, rotisserie restoration, this coupe is a super cool muscle car that's ready to kick your new year off with style! If you're in the market for a sweet classic that can be driven and shown without fear, don't miss the chance to own this head-turning Chevelle!

Pulled out of the North Carolina countryside as a super-solid roller, this Chevy benefitted from a professional, body-off restoration that was completed in late 2013. That work, performed roughly 3K miles ago by Taylorsville, North Carolina's Childers Body Shop, mixed mostly-original sheetmetal with a trunk pan patch and a few quarter panel patches. Naturally, every seam on that metal was aligned to better-than-factory fit. That fit is highlighted by glossy Victory Red 2-stage, which seems much more vivid than traditional Bolero single-stage. And today, it all adds up to one very impressive classic that's poised to show or cruise!

A quick look at our high-resolution photos reveals trim and ornamentation that remain mostly as the General specified. At the front of this coupe's long body, a chromed grille hangs a prominent “SS396” emblem and modern H4 headlights above a bright bumper that's finished with small parking lamps. Behind that grille, a chrome-trimmed Super Sport hood drives a small “CHEVELLE” header in front of fresh glass that's caged in straight frames, polished drip rails and mirrored wipers. At the sides of that hood, ornate fender emblems and quarter-mounted “Super Sport” scripts hint at the true nature of the big block's personality while tasteful door handles and a duo of bowtie mirrors perfectly complement slim wheel lips and correct Super Sport rockers. And out back, a satin Super Sport valance hangs finned taillights and a second “SS396” emblem above a second chrome bumper that's finished with clear reverse lamps.

Check the body-matched engine bay and you'll find 396 cubic inches of buff Chevy big block that was purchased as a complete motor during the car's recent restoration. At that top of that Chevy Orange mill, a trick wingnut cinches a polished air cleaner around a clean Spectre filter element. At the base of that disc, a Quick Fuel carburetor, wired to polished fluid lines, dumps a crisp mixture of fossils and oxygen in to a sporty Edelbrock Performer RPM intake. At the back of that Endurashine plane, a modern HEI distributor sparks loomed MSD Street Fire Wires. Above those cables, cast Chevy heads float polished breathers on polished Chevrolet valve covers. At the front of the block, polished Zoops serpentine components spin a polished water pump between a polished compressor, a polished alternator and modern power steering. At the front of those ancillaries, an efficient Northern radiator makes excellent use of a two SPAL puller fans. And new wiring joins polished bolts, polished sticks, polished fluid reservoirs and a polished brake booster to detail serious performance with serious flash.

That impressive powertrain spins torque through a fresh Tremec 5-speed. That transmission is hooked to a tough, 12-bolt axle, which is fitted with an open differential and big, 3.73 gears. That drivetrain rolls on a requisite F41 Sport Suspension, which, along with the car's frame, has been bathed in handsome Gloss Black paint. The car's modern power steering is augmented with four power-assisted calipers that clamp four vented discs. Coated Sanderson shorties dump spent gases in to aluminized exhaust pipes, which pierce dual-chamber Flowmaster mufflers. At the corners of the car, chrome Vision Legend 5s spin 225/50ZR17 BF Goodrich g-Force Sports. And this Chevelle's glossy, over-restored floors are dotted with high quality details like a polished oil pan, stainless hard lines, a polished inspection cover and a fresh fuel tank.

Pop this A-Body's solid doors and you'll find a crisp Black interior that's both attractive and timeless. In the middle of that cockpit, taut vinyl buckets are in excellent shape, showing no signs of wear. In front of those seats, a classy Super Sport dash hangs rebuilt telemetry between a small tachometer, modern air conditioning and a direct-fit radio. At the base of that dash, fade-free carpet floats a factory console between a flashy Hurst shifter and thick LizardSkin insulation. In front of the driver, a wood-rimmed steering wheel spins polished spokes around a tilting column. And behind the passengers, a custom-upholstered trunk hides a Pioneer CD changer and Kicker subwoofer under dual Sony deck speakers.
