Description

Starting in 1969 and continuing on and off through 2002, Nissan produced a high performance version of its Skyline range called the Skyline GT-R. The Skyline GT-R, referred to as Godzilla by its loyal fanbase, proved to be iconic and achieved fame and success on roads and tracks throughout the world. In 2007, the spiritual successor to the Skyline GT-R, simply dubbed Nissan GT-R, was brought from concept to reality and took the supercar world by storm. This 2010 GT-R is a one owner car with just 5,076 miles on its twin-turbo, all-wheel drive powertrain and is one of the fastest cars RK Motors Charlotte has ever had the pleasure of offering.

Painted in special edition Pearl White, this sinister looking Nissan seems right at home among the muscle cars, sports cars and specialty cars that occupy our showroom. It features a slippery drag coefficient of 0.27 which allows it to hit a top speed of 193 MPH and keep up with the world's best super cars. The front of the design is a modern interpretation of previous Skyline GT-Rs with a broad flat appearance that is built around a two tier horizontal grille. Slightly inset from the cars body, that grille features graphite gray paint and a texturized upper air inlet. Looped around that upper air inlet is chrome trim that complements a traditional “GT-R” emblem located top dead center in the nose. The lower grille features boxed off outer air inlets which protrude a little deeper into the front fascia toward a graphite gray front spoiler that is pushed forward by about an inch. Above the contoured rounded edges of the fascia, highly detailed head lamp housings provide the car with a family resemblance to the 370Z and include HID headlights. On top of the hood, two small gray air scoops break up the cars Pearl White paint and lead your eye to a windshield, flanked by black a-pillars, that gives the profile of the car a flowing look which implies motion. At the sides of the car, front fender lines angle up with the hood and turn 90 degrees to flow down the sides in typical race car fashion. The headlights begin a visual line that manifests itself at the rear of the angled front fender lines and flows throughout the car. On the front fenders where those lines join, graphite gray air extractors are topped by finned chrome “GT-R” emblems that help hide the cars widening footprint from front to back. The sides of the car are very clean with only the previously mentioned emblems, graphite gray rockers, silver door handles and body matched mirrors with black bottoms interrupting the Pearl White paint. At the rear of the car, the fastback roof line meets a trunk mounted spoiler that widens beyond the aluminum trunk to sit above very subtle fender ridges. On the rear valence, four traditional round Skyline GT-R tail lights that are slightly concave and feature LEDS, sit above four stainless exhaust tips housed at the outer edges of the car. To finish things off, a chrome “Nissan” emblem was centered above the tag and a chrome GT-R emblem was positioned just inside of the passenger's side tail lights.

Open the aluminum hood of this Nissan super car and you'll find the hand built and highly desired VR38DETT V6 engine. At 3.8 liters (231.8 cubic inches) this dual overhead cam V6 features 24 valve heads on top of an aluminum block with plasma sprayed cylinder bores. A pressurized lubrication system with thermostatically controlled cooling combines with variable intake valve timing and two parallel Ishikawajima-Harima turbochargers to produce 478 horsepower and 434 lb./ft. of torque. The turbos are completely integrated into the cars exhaust manifolds for more efficient forced induction, reduced weight and complete compliance with the California Air Resources Board's Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle (ULEV) standards. A silver engine cover with a chrome “Nissan” emblem tops the V6 which sits within a carbon fiber composite inner fenders. There is no sign of leaks or any evidence that this car has ever been disassembled and the engine bay looks as clean as it did when it left the showroom floor.

Underneath the car you'll find some serious hardware that was built for weekend outings at the track. The lightweight jig welded steel chassis includes aluminum subframes and hollow front and rear stabilizer bars. Inside that chassis, a hand built, rear mounted 6-speed Borg Warner dual clutch semi-automatic transmission sends power through a carbon composite driveshaft to a mechanically locking rear differential. That transmission includes three modes: 'normal' for daily driving, 'snow' for inclement weather and 'R mode' for 0.2 second performance shifting. Putting the power to all four corners is an ATTESA E-TS all-wheel drive system that is aided by Nissan's Vehicle Dynamics Control stability system. It's important to note that this car does include Nissan's reprogrammed VDC system that keeps the car in the torque maximizing 3,000-3,500 RPM range for better launches and faster time trials. Like the transmission, the VDC also includes three modes: 'normal' in which the computer controls brakes and engine output, 'R mode' for ultimate performance where the system utilizes AWD torque distribution for added stability, and 'off' to completely defeat the system. The car features a four wheel independent suspension with Bilstein's Damptronic system which is also adjustable to three modes: 'normal' for everyday driving, 'comfort' to optimize ride and 'R mode' for maximum performance. A speed sensitive power assist rack and pinion steering system combines with two piece floating rotor Brembo anti-lock brakes with diamond pattern ventilation and 6 piston front and 4 piston rear calipers to deliver an unmatched driving experience.

The interior of the car is finished in no compromises sports car black and features a nice blend of luxury and technology. The dash is covered in leather with light colored stitching and houses a silver trimmed electronic analog instrument cluster with a multi-function trip computer and a digital gear indicator. To the right of the gauge cluster, the car's navigation system includes Bluetooth hands free technology with voice recognition. Below the navigation, a Bose AM/FM CD player includes satellite radio capability and controls Bose speakers throughout the interior. Below the Bose system, you'll find knobs for the cars automatic temperature control and silver trimmed switches for the adjustable Bilsteins, Nissan VDC and 6-speed transmission. Housed in the silver lined center console is a leather wrapped shifter for the automatic or manually shifted transmission and the car's ignition button courtesy of Nissan's Intelligent Key System. On either side of the console, heated eight way power leather buckets mimic racing seats and feature perforated Alcantara inserts and electric buttons for rear passengers to enter or exit the car's rear seats. Leather wrapped door panels feature prominent silver handles and house Bose speakers, one touch up and down power windows and power door locks. The leather wrapped and silver trimmed tilt and telescoping steering wheel includes paddle shifters, controls for the Bose system and integrated cruise control. At the floorboard, “GT-R” sill plates complement “GT-R” floor mats that protect black carpet which sits below drilled aluminum pedals. Safety and security features include dual stage supplemental front air bags, side impact airbags, roof mounted curtain airbags, Nissan's vehicle security system and Nissan's vehicle immobilizer system.

Documentation included with this sale is the cars original books and manuals, and service receipts for the small amount of work performed on this low mileage car.

This 2010 Nissan GT-R missed nothing on its way to becoming one of the world's ultimate performance cars. It has a track ready all-wheel drive powertrain, a performance proven turbocharged motor and more luxury features than some people's houses. If you're in the market for a pristine, low mileage land rocket; call today!
