Description

It's no secret that Chevrolet builds some of the most celebrated trucks on the planet. From the AK era forward, every generation has found a solid following and, eventually, firm footing in the collector car world. Over the past few years, we've featured plenty of vintage, ground-pounding bowties, and this sleek '59 resto-mod is just the latest in a series of sweet Task Force head turners. Mixing a massaged small block and modern GM 4-speed with bodywork that'll park well at any show, this road-ready warrior is worthy of EVERY Chevrolet fan's full attention. If you're shopping for a clean classic that mixes modern detailing with purposeful simplicity, take a close look at this slick 3100!

BODYWORK/TRIM

Fully sorted and ready to roll, this super cool classic is the beneficiary of a comprehensive, ground-up restoration that's set off by glossy black 2-stage. Under that high-quality pigment, an incredibly straight fuselage mixes solid panels with tasteful customization. That lovingly massaged profile features better-than-factory alignment that's seated in even planes and tight gaps. And it all adds up to one head-turning, blue-collar classic that virtually radiates kustom, no-collar style!

Naturally, this Chevy's ground-up rebuild included a roster of fresh bolt-ons. At the front of the truck's body, a familiar chrome grille hangs clear parking lamps between a polished bumper and stainless-trimmed halogen headlights. Behind that façade, a nosed hood leads the eye to a shaved cowl, which fronts a flush-fit windshield. That screen leads a tinted greenhouse, which seats 1-piece side windows under shaved drip rails. Beneath that glass, shaved fenders lead mirror-less doors and a traditional stepside bed that's fitted with custom rails. Between those rails, a custom tonneau shades a textured cargo hold, which centers a small fuel filler in front of a custom tailgate. And that tailgate sits pretty between a custom roll pan and stainless-trimmed LED taillights.

ENGINE

Pop the hood and you'll find a reliable, 350 cubic inch Chevrolet small block that's been polished, rebuilt and fitted with a choice array of aftermarket add-ons. Revs are created when a Metallic Silver air cleaner floats wind in to an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, by way of a coated Edelbrock carburetor. At the perimeter of that intake, Metallic Silver valve covers reflect coated block hugger headers. Behind those covers, a Delco-Remy HEI distributor shoots spark through loomed Standard Triple Silicone wires. At the front of those looms, traditional V-belts spin a polished alternator beside a Sanden AC compressor. At the front of those ancillaries, a beefy radiator plays well with an electric puller fan and a polished expansion tank. And, when it comes to aesthetic appeal, the monochromatic mill fits well inside the truck's massaged engine compartment.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Crawling under this old school bowtie reveals fresh floors and a lucid suspension that appear to have been consistently shielded from adverse weather. Behind the small block, a 700R4 4-speed twists a familiar 10-bolt axle. That torque is steered through traditional power steering. Quick stops are a cinch thanks to two power-assisted discs and two power-assisted drums. The aforementioned headers breathe through heat-wrapped downpipes, dual-chamber Flowmasters and coated tailpipes. At the corners of the chassis, polished Coys wheels twist 215/45R18 Hankook Ventus V2s in front of 275/40R20 Hankook Ventus STs. And everything, from the truck's clean brake booster to its custom fuel tank, is well planned, well executed and ready to work its magic!

INTERIOR

When you pop this pickup's doors, you'll find a stylish custom cockpit that's laced with plush leather surfacing. Top dead center, cushy bucket seats appear to be 90s-era GM pieces. In front of those seats, a leather-wrapped dash founds bright Auto Meter telemetry on a polished bezel. At the base of that dash, a custom, leather-wrapped console centers modern Clarion audio between Vintage Air climate control and a proven Lokar shifter. That console rides vivid Daytona carpet, which floats color-keyed floor mats beneath billet foot pedal and integrated Kicker speakers. That carpet is capped by leather side panels, which frame billet handles, and a leather headliner, which frames a billet mirror. And in front of the driver, a polished and half-wrapped steering wheel laps a modern, tilting column.

Perpetually cool and visually stunning, this awesome Chevy is a classic example of the skill and creativity that defines our hobby. With its clean craftsmanship and excellent asking price, it presents the rare opportunity to land a well-done showstopper that doubles as a well-done road warrior. Don't miss your chance to own this sweet Task Force!
