Description

The automotive scene can be a fickle place. Trends come, go, fizzle and sometimes even cycle back under the guise of “retro”. While many builders strive to create cars that offer the flavor of the day, others use calculated observation to transform premier classics into timeless customs. This hot-rodded 210 features plenty of modern must-haves, like air conditioning, supple upholstery and polished American Racing wheels. But items like an upgraded suspension, a buff big block and a smooth 4-speed automatic transmission certainly underscore the fact that the car marches to its own beat. So, if you're looking for a razor-sharp custom that's ready to attract big crowds and big trophies, here it is!

BODYWORK/TRIM

Built to turn heads while conquering the road, this sweet Chevy is the beneficiary of a detailed restoration that culminated in rich House Of Kolor Orion Silver 2-stage. At the front of the car's post body, a broad bumper traces a Satin Black grille, clear parking lamps and chrome-trimmed headlights. At the top of that grille, a nosed hood props requisite Speer Bullet Spoons in front of a stainless-trimmed greenhouse, which founds smoked glass behind capped wipers. At the base of that glass, a shaved profile seats small mirrors in front of ornate speed spears and traditional door handles. And at the back of the car, a second broad bumper traces factory tail lamps and a decked trunk lid.

ENGINE

Toss this 210's bonnet and you'll find 427 cubic inches of Chevrolet big block that's ready to provide a good mix of fun times and fried tires! At the top of that legendary mill, a low-profile air cleaner centers a stylish Chevrolet wing nut above a coated Holley carburetor, which is finished with braided fuel lines, a quality Lokar linkage and a liquid-filled pressure gauge. That carb feeds a lightweight intake, which is threaded to free-flowing Chevrolet heads that are dressed in color-keyed Proform valve covers. Those covers hang a polished Chevrolet cap and a polished Chevrolet breather above long-tube headers that are traced by vivid GM performance Parts plug wires. At the back of those loomed wires, a familiar HEI distributor turns spark into fire. That fire is cooled by a positively massive radiator, which makes excellent use of electric puller fans, fixed coolant tubes and an AutoRad-capped thermostat housing. Beneath that housing, a modern serpentine drive spins an Edelbrock water pump between a polished Powermaster alternator and a polished AC compressor. And, aesthetically, the car's carefully massaged engine bay reflects clean Orion Silver pigment that highlights quality accessories like trick dipsticks, a coated fuel pump and a polished power steering reservoir.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Under the car, Bel Air-era bones have been replaced with a modern frame that's fully dressed in clean Hammertone powder coat. At the center of that skeleton, a trusty 700R4 4-speed hangs a polished pan and polished flywheel cover in front of a hooped driveshaft, which twists a highway-friendly axle. That axle pushes a 4-bar rear-clip, which fronts adjustable QA-1 coil-overs with a beefy sway bar. Opposite that clip, an independent front-half centers power rack-and-pinion steering between a second sway bar, polished tubular control arms and two more QA-1 coil-overs. Stops come courtesy of trusted Wilwood calipers, which squeeze a familiar combination of drilled, slotted and vented rotors. Spent gases float from the aforementioned headers in to polished pipes and polished Dynomax mufflers. Everything rolls on polished American Racing Torq Thrust IIs, which spin 245/45ZR17 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs in front of 255/50ZR17 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs. And the car's solid, over-restored floors are dotted with first-rate details, including a powerful mini starter, a finned transmission cooler and a stainless gas tank.

INTERIOR

Open this hardtop's doors and you'll find a custom cockpit that was installed by M&M Hot Rod Interiors of Holly Pond, Alabama. Front and center, a sculpted dash frames updated telemetry above hardware for Vintage Air climate control. Beneath that dash, trim carpet floats color-keyed floor mats around billet foot pedals, chrome-trimmed courtesy lamps and a custom, full-length console that's centered on chrome power window switches. At the sides of that console, modern bucket seats stretch leather hides under attractive French stitching. In front of the driver, a polished and leather-wrapped steering wheel laps a polished, tilting column. All that style is framed in sculpted door panels and a molded headliner. And a custom-upholstered trunk hides an Optima gel cell battery next to a Kenwood sub, a Kenwood amp and a remote-controlled Alpine CD player.

Owning a lights-out classic is cool. Owning a lights-out classic that's been professionally customized is something few are lucky enough to experience. Don't miss your chance to experience this incredible Chevy sedan!
