Customized Camaro Restomod 468ci Big Block V8 5 Speed Manual A/C Leather
FACT: Muscle cars are awesome.
That's a tenet virtually every car enthusiast believes in. But, as we all know, there's always room for improvement. That's where cars like this superb Camaro restomod come into the picture. In fact, that's pretty much the definition of the phrase 'pro-touring restomod' -- taking a lit classic and dousing it in updated technology to create an unmatched driving experience with few compromises. Combining 468 cubic inches of Chevrolet power with a stout 5-speed drivetrain and striking blue and black aesthetics, this gruff ground-pounder draws big crowds and big compliments. And if you're one of the many enthusiasts looking for a fun classic that's unrelentingly cool, it's your ticket to car guy nirvana!
ROYALTY REDEFINED
Built by Wild Man Custom of Hockley, Texas, this formidable F-Body features a seamless layer of GM Imperial Blue Metallic base that's been traced with custom stripes and sealed in glossy clear. At the front of the car's well-maintained panels, a narrowed, shaved and tucked bumper shades clear Rally Sport parking lamps between a custom spoiler and a billet Rally Sport grille. Behind that grille, a smoothed header leads the eye to a steel Cowl Induction Hood, which fronts a factory cowl that's finished with billet-capped wiper pegs. Those billet caps play well with billet mirrors, which reflect tinted glass that's seated in mirrored stainless. At the sides of that glass, red pinstripes highlight airbrushed callouts, which blend perfectly with billet door handles and Rally Sport rocker trim. And at the back of the car, a second narrowed, shaved and tucked bumper parallels a traditional D80 deck spoiler, a custom fuel filler and traditional Rally Sport taillights.
POLISH AND POWER
Check this Camaro's smooth engine bay and you'll find 468 cubic inches of buff Chevy big block that turns killer power into voracious torque! At the top of the monochromatic mill, polished air tubes drop crisp wind in to a coated Holley 4-barrel. That carb, sequenced to a Mr. Gasket pressure gauge, surfs an aluminum Edelbrock intake. At the back of that plane, an MSD Pro-Billet distributor sequences spry MSD ignition through loomed MSD Super Conductor plug wires. Those wires help push forged Speed Pro pistons, which top a forged Chevrolet Performance crank and forged Chevrolet Performance rods. Between those rods, a Comp hydraulic roller cam bumps Comp hydraulic roller lifters, which raise titanium pushrods under Crane roller rockers. Those rockers hide under custom valve covers, which center billet breathers on Edelbrock Performer heads. Spent gases are jettisoned through Jet-Hot-coated Hooker Super Comp headers. At the front of the block, a quality March serpentine drive spins a polished alternator above Pete Jackson timing components and a coated Edelbrock water pump. At the front of those ancillaries, a cool Ron Davis radiator makes excellent use of a polished cap, a polished expansion tank and two electric puller fans. And the builder's keen sense of detail is evident in items like billet hood supports, custom coolant lines, a custom radiator shroud and a deep-sump oil pan.
PRO-TOURING RESTOMOD
When the big block jumps to life, a modern hydraulic clutch kicks a Stage II pressure plate, which spins torque through a proven Tremec TKO600 5-speed. That transmission powers a requisite 12-bolt axle that's finished with an Auburn posi and big, 4.10 gears. That Moser-branded pumpkin pushes a factory rear-clip that's augmented with Hotchkis springs and adjustable QA-1 shocks. Opposite that clip, a factory front-half employs tubular Hotchkis control arms. At the corners, power-assisted Wilwood calipers bridge the gap between drilled and slotted rotors, and a familiar Wilwood master cylinder. Under the Satin Black floors, custom stainless exhaust hangs electronic cutouts in front of an x-shaped crossover, brash Magnaflow mufflers and beveled tips. As with the engine bay, detailing is impressive, encompassing items like polished traction bars, sturdy subframe connectors and a polished fuel tank. And everything rolls on 2-piece Rushforth blades, which twist 245/40R18 Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials in front of 305/35R18 Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials.
SPECIALIZED
Decked in attractive suede and leather, this Chevy's tastefully customized interior is tailored and taut. Front and center, SCAT Procar Elite buckets stretch red and white stitching under hearty Crow Enterprizes harnesses. Opposite those thrones, a body-matched dash features CNC-faced Dakota Digital telemetry. Beneath that dash, a custom, full-length console centers a billet shifter in front of controls for modern air conditioning and a Bluetooth-compatible JL Audio head unit. In front of the driver, a brushed Budnik steering wheel laps a tilting column. And behind the passengers, a custom-upholstered trunk hides a hot JL Audio amp and big JL Audio subwoofers.
