8,422 ACTUAL MILE Grand Prix Model J Survivor 400ci V8 4bbl Automatic A/C
Backing 400 cubic inches of original Pontiac V8 with an original Turbo-Hydramatic 400 3-speed, this superb Grand Prix survivor is a fully documented wonder. And if you're looking for some unique and impressive metal that your bank won't require multiple signatures to finance, it's a prime candidate for your next classic!
Tough, understated and attractive, this grand coupe perfectly defines Pontiac's lasting legacy of tempering aggression with sophistication. Meticulously cared for since new, the car has logged just 8,422 miles during its 50 years being lovingly admired by families and collectors alike. That journey began in June of 1969 when the Grand Prix's first owner, who stewarded the car through the next 28 years, signed some papers at Omaha Nebraska's McKenzie Pontiac. When that owner passed, the Pontiac took up a 5-year residence with an immediate family member who, unfortunately, had to sell the car due to medical expenses. During the next 16 years, this gem would pass through the hands of three passionate collectors. And today, it rolls as a pristine, largely-original classic that caps original Warwick Blue paint with original Dark Blue Cordova top.
Under the hood, 400 cubic inches of original Pontiac V8 sports a correct “XH” assembly stamp above a matching 266911 partial VIN. That stout mill commands an original Turbo-Hydramatic 400 3-speed, which hangs a 1969 Grand Prix-exclusive “PW-69” assembly tag opposite a matching 266911 partial VIN. That proven torque slinger grinds power to a correct GM 10-bolt, which spins a posi-traction differential around mild, 3.23 gears. That drivetrain rides a heavy-duty suspension, which complements a thick sway bar and boxed rear control arms with original spiral shocks. A correct combination of power-assisted discs and drums provide adequate stops. Turns come courtesy of factory power steering. Spent gases exit through a fresh Gardner exhaust system. And a quartet of stainless-trimmed Rally IIs wear correct G70-14 Firestone Wide Oval Super Sport whitewalls.
Open the solid doors and you'll find a crisp, original interior that looks factory-fresh in every way. Front and center, a comfy combination of Morrokide vinyl and cloth shrouds a correct combination of bench and Strato bucket seats. In front of those thrones, Pontiac's Command Seat dash wraps the driver in full telemetry and correct Delco audio. A correct console, canted toward the driver, founds a simple shifter in front of a locking console. And in front of the driver, a stylish steering wheel spins a monochromatic arrowhead around a tilting column.
GTOs are nice and Trans Ams are fun, but when was the last time you saw a Pontiac that's as unique and cool as this impeccable Grand Prix? Looking for an old school cruiser that has serious style, loads of power and the ability to turn heads wherever it goes? Here's your next classic!
