Frame Up Built Camaro Pro Touring Restomod 572 V8 5spd A/C Upgraded Suspension
Here at RK Motors Charlotte we sell A LOT of investment grade Camaros. However, as much as we enjoy historic pieces, we're also red-blooded car enthusiasts who love selling cars that can actually be driven and enjoyed as they were originally intended. And with awesome Black and Hugger Orange aesthetics and 572 cubic inches of ground pounding big block, this 1969 Camaro resto-mod will turn driving your muscle car from a hobby into an obsession! Looking for some classic Detroit metal that wraps exceptional drivability in one of the best looking packages to ever roll down American streets? Here's your next classic!
“THE HUGGER”
Judging by the looks of this killer Camaro's blinding finish, we'd be surprised if the car's seen anything other than sunny day rolls since its complete, ground-up restoration. Bodywork is exceptionally clean, with great gaps and accurate panel alignment all around. And the car's uniform quality is proof that someone spent a lot of time making sure everything was on point. When that well-done profile was completely smooth and ready for paint, a mirror-like coat of Hugger Orange 2-stage was ticked with traditional black Rally Stripes. Those stripes look great under color-keyed vinyl, which caps smoked glass, dual mirrors and stylish Rally Sport quarter louvers. And D80 spoilers join factory bumper guards to frame a ZL2 Cowl Induction Hood.
BOLD 572
While the exterior enhancements to this slick Camaro might seem subtle, the 572 cubic inch V8 under its hood is anything but! At the top of the chrome-trimmed monster, a bright K&N X-Stream air cleaner jams wind into a coated Demon 4-barrel, which is fed by a nice combination of stainless and braided fuel lines. The resulting air/fuel mixture makes its way from a polished high rise intake to polished aluminum heads, which ride between chrome plated, Chevrolet-branded valve covers and eight giant cylinders that produce 620 horsepower. Those cylinders get fired by an aftermarket HEI distributor, which shoots spark across chrome looms via red Taylor plug wires. Spent gases are handled by coated shorty headers. In front of those tubes, a polished serpentine drive spins a polished Edelbrock water pump between a chrome alternator, a chrome AC compressor and a trick power steering pump. In front of those belts, an electric puller fan centers a body-matched Flex-A-Lite cowl on a polished aluminum radiator that's finished with a polished overflow and a “Heartbeat” branded cap. And the Chevy Orange block sits pretty in a Hugger Orange engine bay that been stuffed with a plethora of mirrored details.
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE DETAILS
The best resto-mods are those which utilize modern technology and customization to enhance the original integrity of an already attractive muscle car. And this '69 Camaro, with its carefully planned enhancements, is literally the definition of that logic. The big bore engine powers a stalwart 5-speed, which engages a tough hydraulic clutch to spin custom Moser axles. Most of this Camaro's double A-arm front and leaf spring rear suspension is comprised of restored factory hardware. However, the builder did see fit to optimize the car's wow factor with the addition of chrome control arms, chrome coil springs and a chrome front sway bar. Naturally, a powerful drivetrain like this needs equally powerful opposition, so an efficient 4-wheel disc brake system utilizes beefy Wilwood calipers to squeeze a combination of drilled, slotted and vented rotors. At the center of the floor, the aforementioned headers feed a Mandrel-bent true-dual exhaust system that barks through dual-chamber Flowmaster mufflers. And at the corners of the floor, staggered Forgeline CV3s spin Michelin Pilot Super Sports under mandatory mini tubs.
ORANGE HOUNDSTOOTH!
Open this Camaro's solid doors and you'll find an awesome Orange Houndstooth interior that's easily one of the most stylish cockpits to ever roll out of a GM design studio. The completely rebuilt front bucket and rear bench seats feel as firm as the day they left the showroom, and perfectly complement a tight black headliner and black, like-new carpet. Between those seats, a traditional console props a custom armrest behind a traditional Hurst shifter. At the front of that console, a wood-trimmed dash hangs a Covan's Classic gauge pod, complete with a full set of Auto Meter gauges, above controls for Vintage Air conditioning. At the sides of that dash, Deluxe door panels add a nice orange glow. And in front of the driver, a wood rimmed Lecarra steering wheel laps a tilting Ididit column.
If you're in the market for a choice boulevard bruiser that's a blast to show off and even MORE fun to drive, your search is officially over! This well-restored Camaro resto-mod mixes classic Chevrolet looks with a ton of power and some of the best drivetrain components on the market.
