Restored Corvette Coupe Restomod 383 stroker V8 4-speed A/C Side Pipes
This superb Corvette is a first class resto-mod that's wrapped in bare-knuckle Motor City style. And if you're tired of superficial classics that emphasize appearance over practicality, it's the real deal retro relic you've been longing for!
The Sting Ray's solid body, massaged to near perfection during a recent restoration, is covered in a correct coat of Lynndale Blue 2-stage. Not nearly as pastel as it sounds, that pigment gives the car's unquestionably timeless profile undoubtedly modern appeal, especially when it's accented with a striking Teal Stinger Stripe. At the front of the coupe's silky profile, polished bumpers, bullet-style markers and a red, white and black cross-flag emblem cage a stainless egg crate grille. Behind that grille, a familiar Stinger Hood flows to matte wipers which, along with polished stainless, frame factory-tint glass. At the sides of that glass, simple heat extractors lead traditional door handles, a classy bowtie mirror and factory rocker trim. And at the back of the car, monochromatic tail lamps split the difference between mirrored bumpers, a chrome-trimmed fuel filler and a correct Sting Ray emblem.
Tilt the hood and you'll find 383 cubic inches of stroked Chevrolet small block that, according to the car's owner, creates an even 500 horsepower. That power originates when wind whips from a polished air cleaner in to a coated Holley Street Avenger 4-barrel. That carb, sequenced behind stainless lines, feeds a proven Edelbrock Performer intake. That intake floods blueprinted internals, which hide under polished valve covers and bowtie-stamped breathers. Those covers anchor polished looms between a chrome coil, a hot Mallory Unilite distributor and thick Accel Super Stock plug wires. Those cables trace coated block hugger headers. Charge comes courtesy of a polished alternator, which, thanks to pliable V-belts, spins next to an aluminum Edelbrock water pump and a polished AC compressor. Cooling comes courtesy of a serious Be Cool radiator, which hangs a large SPAL puller fan in front of a traditional pulley fan. And the car's clean, monochromatic bay is dressed in details like a high-torque mini starter and an old school Harrison expansion tank and an Optima gel cell battery.
Under this regal coupe, a tough Muncie 4-speed kicks a factory rear end that's finished with big, 3.70 gears. Those gears push a thoughtfully upgraded suspension, which follows a beefy sway bar with upgraded tie rods, Vette Brakes and Products strut rods, Bilstein shocks and Vette Brakes and Products springs. Turns are tightened by power rack-and-pinion steering. Stops are provided by predictable disc brakes. A high-octane soundtrack is funneled through throaty side-pipes. And at the corners of the car, attractive alloys spin 245/45ZR17 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As around tasteful spinners.
Inside this awesome Vette, class is the name of the game as correct Teal Blue vinyl creates a stylish complement to the car's luxurious paint. Pop the doors and you'll find short bucket seats that are both firm and supportive. At the front of those thrones, a 2-tone dash founds Vintage Air conditioning next to direct-fit audio that's funneled through crisp Pioneer speakers. At the sides of that plane, fade-free panels flow into stain-free carpet that's protected by Chevrolet-branded mats. And the driver sticks to the curves through a Teak steering wheel, which laps a telescopic column, and a polished shifter, which surfs a color-keyed console.
