Decked in a smooth coat of Firethorn Red 2-stage, and sporting a stylish leather interior, this hot tri-five is an exceptional cruiser that's ready for years of show and go!
SOLID SOUTH CAROLINA CURVE CARVER
Spending much of its life in Aiken, South Carolina as a solid, rust-free driver, this clean post sedan benefitted from a professional, frame-off restoration that was conducted by Richards Automotive of West Columbia, South Carolina. Wreck-free and original, the car's timeless sheetmetal was stripped bare before being bathed in a warm coat of Firethorn Red 2-stage. And the result is one striking classic that displays better-than-factory fit under a spectacular, head-turning finish!
As a collector car enthusiast, you really can't go wrong with any '50s Chevy. But for many folks, the division's '57 model essentially perfected the art. At the front of this five-seven, a polished grille hangs a bright Chevrolet crest and polished parking lamps between a broad bumper and chrome-trimmed tri-bar headlights. At the top of that grille, a broad hood centers a classy “Chevrolet” script and polished Spear Bullet Spoons in front of chip-free glass that's draped in polished frames. At the base of those frames, polished wipers, polished mirrors and traditional door handles complement a stainless-trimmed profile that's finished with flashy speed spears traditional Bel Air louvers and stylish Bel Air ornamentation. And at the back of the car, a second broad bumper frames ornate taillights and a shaved trunk lid.
LS POWER
Toss the hood and you'll find a potent GM Generation III LS1 small block that, with the help of lightweight Air Flow Research heads, makes miles of easy horsepower! At the top of that mill, a polished, “LS1” branded air filter feeds a trick throttle body, which is bolted to a Wilson FAST LSX intake. High octane fossils are provided by GM electronic fuel injection. Sparks are sequenced through familiar Taylor plug wires. Spent gases are funneled through short aftermarket headers. Cooling comes courtesy of two electric puller fans and a beefy Griffin radiator, which rides a between a polished cap, a polished support and polished fluid reservoirs. Polished serpentine components spin a polished compressor opposite a polished alternator. And, aesthetically, the car's customized engine bay features a roster of attractive bling, including a polished oil cap, braided hoses, a Holley oil pan and requisite Corvette fuel rail covers.
FAR FROM VINTAGE
Under the car, undercoated floors reflect a massaged chassis that's been thoughtfully upgraded with tubular control arms, lowering blocks and a big sway bar. The trusty LS1 powers a tough 4L60E 4-speed, which sports a finned Hughes Performance pan. Easy turns are funneled through power-assisted steering. Power-assisted calipers squeeze drilled and slotted rotors in front of power-assisted drums. Custom exhaust floats spent gases past electric cutouts to an X-shaped crossover and throaty Flowmaster mufflers. And all that premium hardware rolls on polished Boyd Coddington blades, which spin 245/45ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As in front of 245/55ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As.
CUSTOM COMFORT
Between the doors, stylish Blonde leather adds both substance and appeal. An ornate dash wraps attractive billet trim around Classic Instruments telemetry and controls for Vintage Air conditioning. Tall, retrofitted buckets feature power adjustment for the car's driver. A tidy console centers a short shifter amid components for Bluetooth-capable Kenwood audio. Modern power windows join billet Chevy sills to frame custom side panels and crisp JL Audio kick speakers. And in front of the driver, a polished, tilting column spins a polished and leather-wrapped wheel around a billet go pedal.
From the local show to the local strip, this fully sorted Chevy will impress fans and critics alike. It's a highly desirable tri-five that's been tweaked with all the right stuff to be a fun, head-turning cruiser. If you've been shopping for a cool classic that you can enjoy day in and day out, your search is officially over!
