Description

To automotive purists, there's nothing better than a legendary muscle car that's been lovingly restored to factory specifications. For some, it's about preserving history. For others, it's about the unique feel of classic motoring and escapism to simpler times. Our latest offering, this decidedly buff Camaro Z/28, is an SCCA-inspired icon that balances sinister Tuxedo Black paint between a Cross Ram 302 and timeless Rally Stripes. And if you're a serious pony car enthusiast who's looking for a clean, correctly sorted collectible, it's a stellar prospect for your next classic!

BRAWN AND BEAUTY

The beneficiary of a detailed, ground-up restoration, this super cool F-Body is a perfect blend of good craftsmanship and great attention to detail. With solid panels present and accounted for, the car was carefully straightened into better-than-new condition. Once that comprehensive metalwork transitioned from the garage bay to the paint booth, a classic '60s profile was sprayed in deep Tuxedo Black 2-stage. When that paint dried, it was accented with Dover White Rally Stripes, sealed in glossy clear and buffed to a clean shine. And today, officially unleashed as the epitome of old school American style, this exclusive Z/28 is one seriously cool head turner that can drop jaws just as easily as it can win trophies.

With its timeless proportions and modernist panels, the first-generation Camaro is an inherently attractive design. At the front of this clean F1, a silver-trimmed grille anchors a 2-tone “Z/28” emblem between a standard chin spoiler, '69-exclusive headlights and a slick Endura Bumper. Above that grille, a “Camaro” branded header leads the eye past a “302” branded Cowl Induction Hood to like-new glass that's seated in straight stainless frames. That glass, caged between polished wipers and factory mirrors, caps a sculpted fuselage that's dressed in traditional handles, straight rocker trim, optional quarter louvers and requisite Camaro Z/28 fender emblems. And at the back of the car, a second D80 spoiler shades a fourth “Z/28” emblem, '69-exclusive taillights and a guarded bumper.

CROSS RAM DZ

Straight from the General, Chevrolet's high performance 302 utilized high-flow, rectangular-port heads, a forged steel crank, forged steel rods and forged aluminum pistons to twist stout 11 to 1 compression into over 350 horsepower! And when you check under this F1's bonnet, you'll find a spry Chevy small block that, according to its 3956618 casting number, is correct to first-generation Z/28s. At the top of the dressed and detailed mill, a polished air cleaner swirls wind into an exclusive Winters Cross Ram intake thanks to familiar Holley carburetors. Authentic 'double hump' heads hang finned valve covers above quality Stahl headers. A mandatory points distributor shoots spark through 7mm AC Delco Premium Wires. Naturally, the raucous V8's ancillary components are on-point, with fresh GM hoses accompanying a Delco-capped battery and a Delco Moraine brake booster. And an evenly sprayed combination of Chevy Orange skin and Satin Black framing is set off by vivid inspection stamps.

RETRO ROCK AND ROLL

Back in 1969, the only transmission you could get with your Z/28 was a tough Muncie 4-speed, and that's exactly what lives behind this Camaro's mean small block. That date-correct M20 spins power to a requisite 12-bolt axle. That drivetrain rides a fully rebuilt suspension that's led by old school manual steering. A familiar power front disc and rear drum brake system makes excellent use of 4-piston, Corvette-style calipers. That chassis is dissected by a beefy, true-dual exhaust system, which follows an H-shaped crossover with a transversely mounted muffler and polished stainless tips. And everything rolls on exceptionally appropriate Minilites, which spin F70-15 Goodyear Polyglas GTs in front of G60-15 Goodyear Polyglas GTs.

DELUXE ACCOMMODATIONS

Open this Camaro's solid-closing doors and you'll find a correct Black interior that wraps correct Deluxe trim around clean, classic style. A familiar bucket and bench seating layout features factory front headrests. A '69-exclusive dash hangs a factory clock and modern, direct-fit audio behind a color-keyed pad and faux wood trim. At the base of that dash, a traditional F1 console frames correct accessory gauges in front of a factory Hurst shifter. And in front of the driver, a fixed steering column spins a wood-trimmed steering wheel.

Who doesn't want a highly authentic, bare-knuckle Camaro that's been restored back to glory and then some? This exclusive Z/28 retains authentic muscle car feel while adding acute restoration to an already awesome ownership experience. Are you in the market for an impressive classic that's fully detailed and ready to roll? Welcome to the Chevrolet family!
