DIFFERENT IS GOOD
Benefitting from a ground-up, body-off restoration that transformed a solid driver into a lust worthy resto-mod, this awesome A-Body dresses rich Ebony Black 2-stage in crisp, 442-style striping! At the front of the car's tasteful body, a blacked out Rocket emblem joins a sculpted bumper and clear parking lamps to lead “LS2” branded 442 grilles and black-trimmed headlights. Behind those grilles, a stainless-trimmed Cutlass hood flows to a stainless-trimmed greenhouse, which is reflected in body-matched sport mirrors. At the sides of that glass, a stainless-lined profile is devoid of everything but factory marker lamps and traditional door handles. And at the back of that profile, a second impressive bumper centers detailed tail lamps between a stylish “OLDSMOBILE” script and polished exhaust tips.
MODERN GM POWER
Lift the car's vent-free hood and you'll find the forerunner to virtually all the technology still featured in Chevrolet sports cars: GM's potent LS2 small block. In stock form, under the hood of a Trailblazer SS, the rowdy mill utilizes 364 cubic inches to twist buff 10.9 to 1 compression into an even 400 horsepower and 400 lb./ft. of Oak-shaking torque! Up top, customized fuel rail covers feature appropriate GM Performance Division badging. Up front, a remote air cleaner funnels wind through bright tubes, which reflect a lightweight radiator that's fitted with large SPAL puller fans. At the sides of the block, Hooker LS exhaust manifolds ensure all this from-the factory performance stays from-the-factory reliable. High quality PSI engine management ensures everything communicates as it should. And, aesthetically, the aluminum mill looks fantastic centered in niceties like plastic fenders, custom Ebony coil covers and an Optima gel cell battery.
AFTERMARKET ATHLETICS
That small block is trailed by a trusty ZF 6-speed, which spins a heavy duty 10-bolt axle that's fitted with a choice posi-traction differential. That pumpkin pushes a masterfully massaged suspension that's been augmented with Detroit Speed coil-overs, Detroit Speed sway bars and Detroit Speed control arms. Solid stops are provided by 6-piston Baer calipers, which clamp 14-inch drilled and slotted rotors. Easy turns come courtesy of lucid power steering. Under the Satin Black floors, a custom exhaust shuttles spent gases through an X-shaped crossover and throaty Magnaflow mufflers. And everything rolls on 18-inch Bonspeed blades, which lap 275/35ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As in front of 295/35ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As.
CLASSIC VIBES
Decked in timeless style, this Cutlass's tasteful interior is a perfect place to cruise the day away! Seating is provided by plush factory thrones. Cut-pile carpet centers a short shifter between large kick speakers and pliable door panels that front quick power windows. In front of that shifter, a customized dash founds crisp Dakota Digital telemetry next to modern Pioneer audio and Vintage Air Gen IV climate control. And the driver spins a leather-wrapped Lecarra steering wheel around a tilting Flaming River column.
Restored, reliable and ready to roll, this brilliant Olds is guaranteed to please even the most discerning classic car enthusiast. Looking for awesome top-tier muscle that you can actually drive and enjoy? Look no further than this cool Cutlass!
