Restored & Customized Tin Woody Wagon 350 V8 Automatic Leather A/C
In today's automotive landscape, most spectators like to make hard distinctions between cars and trucks. Maybe it's an adverse reaction to excellent crossovers continually gaining share. Maybe its insecurity over sedans slowly becoming a niche product. Or maybe it's fear of electricity and autonomy completely redefining what a car is. Whatever the case, cars and trucks have always emanated from a common wellspring. For example, Ford's immortal Model A was produced in a wide array of body styles. The 2-box sedans of the 1940s could be considered the largest precursor to modern crossovers. And today, most major OEMs are switching to modular vehicle platforms that can spawn everything from a sporty 3-door to a full-size pickup. All that said, there are few places where this all-inclusive mindset has been cooler or more successful than storied American wagons. And this exceptional Chevrolet DeLuxe is a choice classic that combines 350 cubic inches of smooth small block power with an upgraded suspension, automated gears and captivatingly cosmic appeal!
SURFBOARD NOT INCLUDED
It's no secret that, during the glory of the 1950s and 1960s, American car designers drew heavy inspiration from space and The Space Race. While almost every classic from that era is truly fascinating, perhaps no company perfected the aesthetic better than General Motors. One of the legendary products that kicked off the Chevrolet brand's market dominance, the 1952 Styleline is a sight to behold. The beneficiary of acute restoration, this DeLuxe Styleline is a razor-sharp head turner that's well known throughout the street rod community. The car's solid sheetmetal stretches rich green 2-stage under some of the best simulated wood we've ever seen. Naturally, that matte, 'Tin Woody' finish is dressed in an array of attractive stainless. And custom touches include hooded headlights, a retro chic visor and modern LED taillights.
TIMELESS POWER TO MATCH TIMELESS APPEAL
Check the car's clean engine bay and you'll find 350 cubic inches of reliable Chevy small block that's lean, mean and ready to roll! At that top of that familiar mill, a muted Chevrolet air cleaner drops breeze through a coated Edelbrock 4-barrel. Wired to stainless lines and a small Russell filter, that spry carb dumps a crisp mixture of fossils and oxygen in to a muted aluminum intake. At the back of that plane, a quality HEI distributor sequences spark through loomed Taylor plug wires. Above those cables, cast iron heads float attractive Chevrolet valve covers between billet bowtie breathers and coated block hugger headers. And at the front of those tubes, March serpentine components spin modern power steering beneath an aluminum water pump, a modern alternator and a modern AC compressor.
STREET RODDING DONE RIGHT
Every great automotive profile has an equally great foundation. Not surprisingly, this DeLuxe rolls on an upgraded suspension that provides a delightfully lowered stance. The kit kicks off with lucid power rack-and-pinion steering, which leads a Fat Man Fabrications independent front-clip. Opposite that hardware, a factory rear-clip is stacked with lowering blocks. The smooth small block twists a tough Turbo-Hydramatic 350 3-speed, which spins a GM 10-bolt axle that's finished with mild, 2.73 gears. Power-assisted stops are provided by a familiar combination of discs and drums. Aluminized exhaust dumps spent gases into welded, dual-chamber mufflers. And at the corners of the car, stainless-trimmed steelies spin bright bowties around 205/65R15 Ironman Radials and 225/70R15 Ironman Radials.
TO THE NINES
Open this wagon's doors and you'll find a custom leather cockpit that literally took nine hides to complete. Top dead center, a striking, stainless-trimmed dash floats modern Pioneer audio between fully rebuilt telemetry and a classy clock. A custom, full-length console caps clean carpet, which flows to custom, billet-trimmed side panels. A wood-trimmed headliner crawls toward a carpeted and leather-trimmed hatch. And in front of the driver, a polished and leather-wrapped steering wheel laps a polished, tilting column.
If you're a fan of poise, class and swagger, it doesn't get much better than this classy DeLuxe! A rare combination of timeless style and solid drivability, this sweet Chevy is a well-done classic that'll be a blast on the road and a hit at the show. Don't miss your exclusive opportunity to experience a stellar piece of American history!
