Body off restored C10 Restomod ZZ427 V8 5-speed 12 Bolt Air Conditioning PS PB
There's just something about old school pickups that's universally appealing. To us, they're clean, straightforward manifestations of the best aspects of classic car ownership. And it seems many enthusiasts agree, as trucks like this timeless C10 resto-mod have quickly become some of our hottest sellers. Mixing 427 cubic inches of big block might with an upgraded chassis, a tough Tremec 5-speed and show-stopping aesthetics, this sweet Chevy is your ticket to all-American bliss!
A DIAMOND IN THE BLUE
Solid, sorted and ready to roll, this super cool Chevy stayed in the care of one owner until the commencement of its, detailed, ground-up restoration. During that rebuild, the truck's solid profile was fully dipped, professionally media blasted and carefully supplemented with all-GM steel. And that steel orchestrates rich reflections thanks to striking Cadillac Blue Diamond three-stage. At the front of that pearl, a clean bumper traces an early Action Line grille, which centers an original bowtie amid traditional halogen lamps and clean white paint. Above that grille, a “CHEVROLET” branded hood fronts a factory-tint greenhouse, which moves 2-piece side glass behind bright wipers and factory mirrors. At the sides of that glass, a script-free profile floats polished door handles above NOS rocker trim. A short bed, finished top and bottom, frames a relocated fuel filler with body-matched skids and attractive Ash planks. And at the back of that wood, stainless-trimmed taillights join a clean bumper and a dressed tailgate to trace white and yellow “CHEVROLET” lettering.
ZZ427
Peer into this Chevy's glossy engine bay and you'll find 427 cubic inches of GM Performance Parts ZZ427 that twists stout 10.1 to 1 compression into 480 horsepower and 490 lb./ft. of pavement-busting torque. Oxygen and dinosaurs enter the combustion chambers through a muted Chevrolet air cleaner, stainless fluid lines and a coated Holley carburetor. Below that carb, an aluminum intake feeds 110cc, oval-port aluminum heads, which wear attractive Proform valve covers and polished Chevrolet push-ins. Below those covers, aluminum roller rockers feed forged aluminum pistons, forged steel rods, a forged steel crank and a hydraulic roller cam. At the back of that cam, a hot MSD Pro-Billet distributor sequences spark between an MSD Blaster 2 coil and eight GM Performance Parts plug wires. Below those wires, coated Doug's headers create deep, lust worthy acoustics. At the front of those tubes, a thick Be Cool radiator flows coolant past two electric puller fans thanks to corrugated hoses and a proven GM water pump. In front of that pump, a modern serpentine drive spins a lucid GM alternator opposite a modern GM compressor. And top notch detailing includes a coated fuel pump, billet hood supports and quality CPP brake components.
STREET ROD STRENGTH
Behind that legendary big block, a tough RAM HDX clutch kicks a Bowler-built Tremec TKO600 5-speed. That modern gearbox spins an original 12-bolt that's finished with fresh axles, 3.73 gears and an Eaton posi-traction differential. This Chevy's reinforced chassis, blasted, C-notched and painted during the truck's detailed restoration, achieves a coveted 5/6 stance thanks to drop spindles, drop springs and CPP truck arms. Easy turns are achieved with the help of a power-assisted AGR quick-ratio steering box. Hydraboosted CPP calipers squeeze a quartet of drilled and slotted rotors. The 427 siphons a big aluminum fuel tank. The aforementioned headers feed aluminized pipes, which center an H-shaped crossover in front of bold Flowmaster mufflers, and polished and boxed tips. And power meets the pavement through American Racing Classic Torq Thrust IIs, which twist 245/45ZR18 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs in front of 295/45ZR18 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs.
KEEP IT OLD SCHOOL
Swivel the doors and you'll reveal a tastefully customized cockpit that's classy in all the right ways. Tight black leather joins dark blue stitching to trace a standard bench seat that's propped on fade-free carpet. In front of that seat, a body-matched dash hangs conservative Classic Instruments telemetry beside cool Vintage Air conditioning. A Hurst Blackjack shifter toggles between factory side panels and a factory headliner. And the driver spins a stylish Chevrolet Rally Wheel around stainless-trimmed foot pedals.
Perpetually cool and mechanically fulfilling, this awesome Chevy is an appealing take on the traditional truck concept. Combining acute restoration with proven power, it presents the rare opportunity to land a truly timeless classic that easily doubles as a well-sorted road warrior. Don't miss your chance to own this awesome C10!
