Behind that VIN-stamped mill, a trusty Turbo-Hydramatic 350 3-speed, an original unit that's branded with a correct partial VIN, spins a lightweight Dana 44 pumpkin that's finished with a correct, limited-slip differential. That driveline hangs in an optional FE7 Gymkhana Suspension, which combines spry power steering with 4-wheel power disc brakes. That suspension is dissected by a factory-style exhaust system, which centers a factory converter in front of twin baritone mufflers. And everything rolls on optional aluminum blades, which spin 255/60R15 Goodyear GT Radials around tasteful cross-flag center caps.

RED, AS IT SHOULD BE

Inside this coupe, an all-original interior puts a disco twist on Team Corvette's classic white-on-red theme. Firm bucket seats are nicely patterned pieces that are still being protected by plastic covers. Between those thrones, a clean console plants a short shifter between factory air conditioning, switches for factory power windows and optional Delco-GM 8-track audio. A tilt and telescoping steering wheel, still rimmed in plastic, laps conservative telemetry. And the car's healthy content list is capped off with power door locks, Cruise Control and a remote driver's sport mirror.
