Introduced as International parent Navistar's answer to Ford's medium duty F-Series and GM's Hummer H1, the International MXT is essentially a more civilized version of the brand's MXT-MV military tactical vehicle. With that in mind, the big difference between trucks that ride C-130s and trucks that ride two-lanes, like this beast, is the expert utilization of a purpose-built, all-wheel-drive chassis that lowers ride height by roughly 17 inches. That chassis centers a common International CXT cab between an MXT-exclusive bed and an MXT exclusive cowl that's finished with an International DuraStar grille and International 9000 Series headlights. Those components, along with the truck's Navistar VT365 V8 and 5-speed Allison transmission, are then shipped to the pros at Midwest Automotive Designs for final assembly. And today, this MXT mixes miles of 'bulletproofed' diesel power with luxuries like supple leather, cool air conditioning, crisp audio and a smooth Air Ride Cab.
