Fresh Ground Up Built GTO Restomod LS3 6.2L 525hp V8 6-speed A/C Leather
Flashy Pro Street cars are fun, and polished show queens are nice, but there's really nothing cooler than a well-done resto-mod. Seriously, who doesn't love a classic that looks good on the street AND performs well at the stoplight? No gimmicks, no frills and no posturing; just power and swagger -- LOTS of swagger. This sweet GTO is a sinister stunner that mixes 376 cubic inches of Chevrolet Performance LS3 with a modern driveline, a thoroughly upgraded chassis and a leather-clad, air conditioned cockpit. And if you're looking for some choice muscle that's road ready, show-ready and just plain battle-ready, it's the perfect way to prowl the scene and bruise a few egos!
THE STAR OF THE SCENE
An authentic code 42 GTO that's fresh out of a two-year rotisserie restoration, this legendary Pontiac is a timeless hunk of GM muscle that's clean, mean and ready to roll! That nut-and-bolt rebuild was conducted by a passionate GTO enthusiast who, to date, has between 40 and 50 restorations under his belt -- experience which shines, both figuratively and literally, when you take one look at this coupe's glossy PPG Viper Black two-stage. At the front of that svelte pigment, a stainless-trimmed dual-port grille hangs a prominent “G T O” badge and spotless parking lamps between a fresh bumper and requisite T3 headlights. At the top of that grille, a long hood centers a small scoop in front of tinted glass that's centered behind stainless frames and a polished driver's mirror. At the sides of that hood, bright fender emblems and muted quarter scripts perfectly complement stainless wheel frames, stainless rocker guards and polished door handles. And at the back of the car, a stainless-trimmed valance bends stylish taillights between bold call-outs, polished exhaust tips and a second fresh bumper.
CONNECT & CRUISE
Purchased as a reliable Connect & Cruise kit straight from Chevrolet Performance, this Poncho's divine GM small block, officially known as the LS376/525, twists respectable 10.7 to 1 compression into 525 horsepower and 486 lb./ft. of torque! At the front of that mill, a polished Spectre air tube funnels cool wind into a proven GM throttle body, which is sequenced to a lightweight GM intake. That air meets spark in rectangular-port L92-style heads, which ride under familiar Corvette rail covers. A nodular crank, powdered connecting rods and hypereutectic pistons compress that volatile union. A racing-inspired ASA cam maximizes intake efficiency through better breathing. Speaking of breathing, that smooth valvetrain funnels spent gases through tame Hooker exhaust manifolds. Lubrication is greatly enhanced by a quality Holley oil pan. A billet CVF serpentine drive spins a polished alternator opposite a polished AC compressor. And there's a proven Cold Case radiator that's slid between two puller fans and a custom expansion tank.
BETTER IN ALL THE RIGHT PLACES
Logging scant miles since its ground-up restoration, this goat's fully rebuilt undercarriage has been thoughtfully upgraded in all the right places. The stout small block commands a new Tremec T56 Magnum 6-speed, which uses a hydraulic McLeod clutch to twist a custom Inland Empire driveshaft. That 3.5-inch, aluminum tube powers a fresh Ford 9-inch axle, which spins a posi-traction differential around sporty, 3.50 gears. That drivetrain rides a restored suspension, which has been upgraded with tubular control arms and QA-1 coil-overs. Power-assisted turns work well with power-assisted stops, achieved through a full roster of The Right Stuff Detailing components that includes 13-inch front rotors, powder-coated calipers and 11.5-inch rear rotors. At the center of the car's solid floors, a throaty Pypes exhaust system hangs an X-shaped crossover in front of aggressive Street Pro mufflers. And everything rolls on chromed Ridler 645s, which spin 225/45ZR18 Sumitomo HTR Z5s in front of 275/35ZR20 Sumitomo HTR Z5s.
COOL AUTHENTIC FEEL
Swing the doors and you'll find a clean leather interior that feels like the perfect place to spend a warm summer evening. Front and center, red-stitched TMI buckets lead a red-stitched, TMI-upholstered bench. The LS3's vitals are displayed by Dakota Digital VHX telemetry, which rides next to Vintage Air climate control and Bluetooth-capable RetroSound audio. Like-new carpet anchors a chrome Hurst shifter behind stainless-trimmed foot pedals. At the sides of the car, pliable door panels mix manual hardware with red-trimmed emblems. The driver spins a brushed steering wheel around a tilting column. And the passengers store essentials in a custom-upholstered trunk.
When it comes to performance, durability and sheer intimidation, nothing beats a good old GM workhorse. And thanks to a high quality, performance-minded restoration, this clean coupe wraps a killer drivetrain in a capable chassis and precise aesthetics. Looking for some standout muscle that'll provide years of great memories? Don't miss the chance to add this sweet GTO to your collection!
