Restored C10 Pickup Big Block 396 V8 Automatic PS PB A/C Houndstooth
Introduced as a more approachable follow-up to GM's legendary Task Force pickups, the Chevrolet C/K has become a beloved automotive icon that's won enthusiasts, spawned a giant aftermarket and even inspired festivals! In fact, early C10s are so popular that they're ever-present in every corner of the classic car hobby, from customs and pro-touring resto-mods to mini truckin' and street legal stock cars. More traditional than transformative, this razor-sharp Chevy backs 396 cubic inches of all-American power with a decidedly handsome appearance. And if you like your classic to be head-turning AND fun to drive, it's a great candidate for your next cruiser!
BLUE COLLAR IN A BUSINESS SUIT
Fully sorted and ready to roll, this super cool Chevy walks a fine line between sport and shine. Under the truck's rich two-stage, a solid fuselage hangs clean panels that appear straight and well aligned. And that body's combination of great reflections and flat surfaces suggest quality certainly took precedence over time. At the front of the truck, a tough, “CHEVROLET” branded grille hangs clear parking lamps between traditional headlights and a polished bumper. Above that grille, a domed hood centers a wood grain bowtie on a tinted greenhouse, which rolls one-piece side glass behind muted window trim and polished stainless wipers. At the sides of that glass, a smooth profile centers polished mirrors, polished handles and ornate CST badging between attractive CST spears, wood-themed CST rocker guards and fresh marker lamps. And at the back of that profile, a second polished bumper joins a CST-dressed tailgate to seal a lined bed between bright taillights.
BIG BLOCK IN A SHORT WHEELBASE
Pop the hood and you'll find 396 cubic inches of storied Chevrolet power! A perfect combination of oxygen and fuel comes courtesy of a coated Edelbrock carburetor and a dual-snorkel air cleaner. Below that carb, a sea of brilliant Chevy Orange paint covers the block from its choice Edelbrock intake all the way to its stamped steel oil pan. At the back of that plane, a hot HEI distributor shoots spark through pliable 8mm Standard Triple Silicone Wires. Below those wires, tough iron heads center polished valve covers on predictable long-tube headers. In front of those tubes, tight belts spin a modern alternator opposite factory power steering and an era-correct Frigidaire AC compressor. That roster of proven components is seated in a wide, body-matched engine bay. And that subdued pigment is dotted with details like polished brackets, polished caps, a polished brake booster and a familiar Wilwood master cylinder.
FACTORY BONES IN STREET ROD KICKS
Behind that trusty powerplant, a smooth Turbo-Hydramatic 350 3-speed twists torque to a tough 12-bolt axle. Everything rolls low and mean on a familiar, factory-style suspension. Modern power steering makes parking easy and turns a cinch. Quick stops come courtesy of power-assisted discs and drums. The aforementioned headers feed aluminized pipes, which growl through welded, dual-chamber mufflers. A relocated fuel tank supplies plenty of 'go juice'. And power meets the pavement through polished Billet Specialties Speedways, which spin 245/45R20 Sumitomo HTRs in front of 275/40R20 Sumitomo HTRs.
TIMELESS COMFORT IN TIMELESS STYLE
Swivel the doors and you'll reveal a tastefully restored cockpit that's classy in all the right ways. Awesome Houndstooth upholstery dresses a pair of vintage buckets to match clean, fade-free carpet. In front of those thrones, a monochromatic dash hangs crisp factory telemetry beside cool factory air conditioning and discreet modern audio. Ornate CST door panels do a great job complementing the custom feel of a retrofitted console and modern kick speakers. And the driver spins a familiar Chevrolet Rally Wheel around a tilting column.
It's no wonder the C10 continues to be one of the market's most popular options for stylish, all-American transportation! With sweet aesthetics, epic swagger and muscle car streetability, this Chevy is the perfect combination of form and function. Call your friends at https://www.RKMotors.com for more information!
