Frame Off Built C10 Restomod Supercharged 6.0L LS V8 Auto A/C
Flashy muscle cars are fun and polished customs are nice, but there's really nothing cooler than a well-done truck. No gimmicks, no frills and no posturing: just power and presence -- LOTS of presence. This exceptionally clean Apache is a traditional stunner that mixes six liters of supercharged small block with a smooth driveline, sinister aesthetics and a detailed rotisserie restoration that took a solid five years to finish. And if you're looking for a cool classic that's both road ready and show-ready, it's the perfect way to cruise the scene and turn some heads!
BAD IN BLACK
Fully sorted and ready to roll, this sweet Chevy walks a fine line between sport and shine. Under the truck's rich two-stage, a solid fuselage hangs clean Texas panels that were professionally straightened and aligned. And that body's combination of great reflections and flat surfaces illustrate how, for this classic's ground-up build, quality certainly took precedence over time. At the front of the truck, a polished grille hangs bold “CHEVROLET” lettering between a fresh bumper, clear parking lamps and four headlights that sport factory visors. Above that grille, a sculpted hood centers a bright red bowtie between a polished V, ornate “Apache 10” scripts and signature embossed spinners. Polished mirrors join polished wipers to reflect a chip-free greenhouse that's finished with Chevrolet's Custom Appearance Equipment. A wet looking profile floats polished handles above rare Chevrolet Custom Appearance Equipment speed spears. Behind the cab, a fresh wood bed looks super clean thanks to screw-less skid strips. And at the back of those planks, a second fresh bumper joins LED taillights around sleeved tailgate chains and classy tailgate lettering.
BADDER WITH A BLOWER
Installed by the pros at Lenoir, North Carolina's HotRod Dynamics, this Chevy's hot Vortec 6000 small block enlists an LSA-style Eaton supercharger to throw a heavy 486 horsepower straight to the rear wheels! At the front of that cast iron mill, a compact Spectre filter funnels wind into a glossy tube, which fronts a trusty GM throttle body. That oxygen mixes with fossils thanks to GM electronic fuel injection. Lightweight, LSA-spec 821 heads cap coated Sanderson shorties, which split loomed ICT Billet plug wires. Charge is provided by a requisite GM serpentine drive, which spins a modern alternator opposite a modern AC compressor. Cooling comes courtesy of a muted aluminum radiator that's complete with a polished cap, a polished tube and a large puller fan. Form and function are provided by polished valve covers, complete with a billet oil cap, and billet CVF hood supports, complete with Eddie Motorsports struts. Choice detailing includes billet tanks, braided lines, ICT plug fittings and quality Wilwood brake components. And the compact mill rides under a custom, body-matched LSA engine shroud that looks tailor-made for the truck's clean, body-matched engine bay.
THE WAY IT SHOULD SIT
Behind that trusty powerplant, a smooth 4L80E 4-speed twists torque to a tough 9-inch axle. Everything rolls low and mean on a familiar, factory-style chassis that's been supplemented with an '83 C1500 front-clip. Modern power steering makes parking easy and turns a cinch. Quick stops come courtesy of red Wilwood calipers, which cinch 20 pistons around drilled and slotted rotors. The aforementioned headers feed stainless, Mandrel-bent pipes, which growl through an X-shaped crossover and polished MagnaFlow mufflers. A polished fuel tank supplies plenty of 'go juice'. And power meets the pavement through polished Schott Mod 5s, which spin 275/35ZR20 BF Goodrich g-Force Comp 2s in front of 275/40ZR20 BF Goodrich g-Force Comp 2s.
THE STYLE IT SHOULD BE
Swivel the doors and you'll reveal a lovingly restored cockpit that's classy in all the right ways. Red-stitched Glove Leather dresses a broad bench seat to match clean, fade-free carpet. In front of that throne, a monochromatic dash hangs tastefully upgraded telemetry beside cool Vintage Air conditioning and discreet modern audio. Glossy doors point simple armrests behind traditional handles and cranks. The modern transmission is toggled through a long Lokar shifter. And the driver spins a standard factory wheel that, along with truck's visors, adds a nice pop of color.
When it comes to performance, durability and sheer Americana, nothing beats an old school GM workhorse. Thanks to a high-quality restoration, this sweet Apache wraps a hot drivetrain in a capable chassis and crisp aesthetics. Ready to stand out from the crowd?
