Description

If you clicked this ad, we don't need to sell you on the virtues of a classic Chevrolet. You already know the bowtie brand is pretty much the cream of the crop when it comes to the meat of the collector car market. Essentially all of the marque's offerings enjoy huge followings, and much of the hobby's aftermarket has been built around keeping those fans happy. That said, it still takes quite a bit of time and dedication to build a first class 'golden era' custom out of one of the Chevy's rarest and, to some, most prized offerings. That's where this awesome Brookwood comes in! Given it's lineage, the car will always be an in-demand star. But it also enjoys the kind of singularity and exclusivity that owners of Corvettes, Camaros, Chevelles and Bel Airs can only dream of. Ready for a super cool classic that combines everything great about front row Goodguys customs with proven road rocket technology? Check out this killer bowtie resto-mod!

AMERICAN AUTOMOTIVE ART

Professionally restored by a roster of first rate shops that were hand-picked by a dedicated enthusiast, this magazine-featured Brookwood is the stuff of So Cal street rodder legend! You know, there's a running joke in the automotive enthusiast community that wagons are, hands down, the coolest form of transportation. And, well, after seeing this sweet, six passenger beast, we don't think that's such a bad premise. The car's extensive rebuild began with virtual miles of solid, Jet Age sheetmetal being stripped bare, lovingly straightened and coated in a cool combination of Tuxedo Black and Corvette Silver Pearl two-stage. As you would expect on a rolling piece of art, all the car's trim has been restored to its original luster. And deviations are minor but meaningful, with modern headlights and billet hot rod mirrors joining tinted glass and supreme Tri-City bumper plating as this Chevy's only obvious modifications.

STROKED AND STOKED

An authentic V8 Brookwood since the day it was fired, this wagon currently rolls with 383 cubic inches of rowdy BluePrint Engines small block! Installed in December of 2021 by the pros in our very own RKM Performance Center, that fresh mill kicks off with a color-keyed Chevrolet air cleaner that's detailed with a red bowtie spinner. A subtle Lokar throttle cable unleashes the full fury of FAST electronic fuel injection. Both air and fuel make their way from a lightweight aluminum intake to lightweight aluminum heads, which hide smooth roller rockers and spry roller lifters under a polished breather and crinkle-finish valve covers. Those heads cap a seasoned 4-bolt block that's been decked, honed and sonic tested for thickness. A steel crank joins hypereutectic pistons and a smooth hydraulic roller cam to turn stout 10 to 1 compression into a solid 430 horses. A familiar Mallory distributor sequences fire through loomed MSD Street Fire Wires. Spent gases get jettisoned through coated shorty headers. Cooling is provided by a clean aluminum radiator, which is fitted a polished expansion tank, two electric pusher fans and a big electric puller fan. Polished Billet Specialties Tru Trac serpentine components spin a polished water pump between a polished alternator, a polished AC compressor and fluid power steering. And naturally, the car's Satin Black engine bay is clean and ready to roll.

SITS WELL, SHOWS WELL

One great thing about classic cars is they're comprised of generally simple, well-engineering technology that's benefitted from years of innovation and restoration. That means you, the buyer, are getting a time-tested recipe that's sweetened with ingredients for the sole purpose of enjoyment. This Chevrolet scoots on a 1959 factory suspension that, in addition to being fully rebuilt, has been spiced with RideTech shocks, RideTech StrongArms, Hotchkis trailing arms and trick RideTech air bags. The 383 spins power through a tough 700R4 4-speed, which twists a proven Currie 9-inch that's built with 31-spline axles. A high-torque mini starter raises the proverbial curtain while a requisite electric fuel pump drains a custom Rick's tank to run the show. That motivational act is countered by four power-assisted Wilwood calipers, which squeeze four drilled and slotted rotors. Great sounds emanate from '50s-style mufflers. And everything rolls on bright American Racing Torq Thrust IIs, which spin 255/45ZR17 Nitto redlines in front of 275/40ZR17 BF Goodrich redlines.

INSPIRED TO STAND OUT

The key to creating any timeless custom is strategically emboldening the already excellent virtues of a prized classic. Between this Chevy's doors, an ornate factory dash plants slick Classic Instruments All American telemetry next to controls for the car's bags, controls for the car's fuel injection and controls for the car's modern air conditioning. Speaking of modern, a Bluetooth Kenwood head unit, wired to crisp speakers, a big amp and Hertz subs , kicks off a custom console that's bookended by a polished fire extinguisher. 1964 Impala seats stretch tight custom leather beneath the driver and four of their closest friends. Bright Daytona Carpet floats rugged floor mats between stainless-trimmed foot pedals and custom side panels that feature neat bowtie lock knobs. In a ride like this, style has to be priority number one, with a trick shift knob and dashboard hula dancer complementing a retro coon's tail that hangs from a surfboard-style mirror and a lit surfboard headliner that doubles as a third brake light. And the driver spins a polished, half-wrapped steering wheel around a polished, tilting column that's complete with modern Cruise Control.

For many of us, owning a classic car is about defying norms and standing out from the crowd. It's an extension of the passion and creativity we always feel but can't always display. With this excellent Brookwood, you're sure to be the boss of the road and the embodiment of culture! Call, click or visit http://www.RKMotors.com for more information.
