In the early 1960s, Chevrolet's newly anointed line topper certainly did its fair share to pad the polishing industry. And, as with its sculpted body, all of this Impala's retro chic jewelry has been returned to glare-inducing brilliance. At the front of the car, a polished grille hangs a bright Chevrolet crest between a guarded bumper, clear parking lamps and old school halogen headlights. Above that grille, a wide-set “CHEVROLET” script leads cool fender toppers above jet-inspired profile spears that are garnished with ornate Impala badging. A legendary 'bubble top' greenhouse bends flashy stainless trim between polished wipers and cool bowtie mirrors. Stylish FAST fuel rails trace a lightweight GM intake, which caps reliable 862 heads that are dressed in custom valve covers. An iron crank, powdered connecting rods and hypereutectic pistons create stout compression. That compression gets sparked by quality Taylor plug wires, which are cleanly loomed to relocated coils. A hydraulic roller cam utilizes quality roller rockers to maximize intake efficiency. Speaking of breathing, that smooth valvetrain funnels spent gases through beefy Hooker headers. There's a polished Champion radiator that's slid between a fabricated overflow and spry puller fans. Holley serpentine components spin a blacked out alternator opposite a blacked out AC compressor. And, as you likely deduced from our high-resolution photos, the Chevy Orange mill rolls in a clean, Satin Black frame that's finished with niceties like an Optima battery, Lokar sticks, a glass washer bottle and a choice Wilwood master cylinder.

BADDER AND BETTER

Under the car, solid, lovingly undercoated floors shade a massaged chassis that's been thoughtfully upgraded with an aftermarket sway bar and fully adjustable Air Lift air springs. The trusty LS motor powers a dressed 4L60E 4-speed, which utilizes an EZ-TCU controller to spin a familiar GM dropout. Easy turns are funneled through power-assisted steering. Red GM calipers use modern power assist to squeeze a quartet of vented rotors. Wrapped exhaust floats spent gases through throaty Flowmaster mufflers. And all that premium hardware rolls on chromed Coys C-5s, which spin 245/35R18 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s in front of 275/35R20 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s.

Hit the button for this hardtop's power-operated locks and you'll find virtual acres of stylish cloth and vinyl upholstery that add big comfort to traditional appeal. An ornate dash plants crisp Dakota Digital VHX telemetry behind controls for Vintage Air conditioning and retrofitted dials for the car's trick springs.
