The body is as perfect as you'll find on anything created in 1993. The 40th Anniversary exclusive Ruby Red Metallic paint is crisp and dynamic and the maroon convertible top is in excellent shape all the way down to its scratch-free plastic window. Up front, the combination halogen running lamps and turn signals are as clear as the day they left the showroom and the stamped Corvette tag panel is free of chips or damage of any kind. The hood mimics cowl induction hoods found on classic Chevrolets and features a fresh chrome C4 Corvette emblem, complete with checkers and red Chevy bowtie, which looks like its straight out of the factory mold. The profile of the car carries the same coke bottle shape of older Corvettes, except whittled down by years of gained aerodynamic knowledge. The front fenders feature clear combination cornering and marker lamps in front of the front tires and traditional Corvette gills behind the front tires. Body color trim runs around the entire car complementing chrome “40” front fender emblems that still retain their factory shine. At the doors, body matched mirrors add a completed look while blacked out door handles sit flush with the body and blend into the deep paint. All original glass is good as new and behind the convertible top you'll find a satin black factory luggage rack that appears to have never been used. On the fuel filler door, another pristine chrome C4 Corvette emblem shines like new. Four trademark Corvette tail lights are the main feature of the rear valence and along with the vertical reverse lights, are clear and free of defects. At the bottom of the rear valence, the cars original flat black, square tips complete the look.
The Generation II LT1 found under the hood of this car is an excellent motor and was the basis for all GM vehicles with V8 power for most of the 90s. This 5.7 liter (350 cubic inch) Corvette motor features a four bolt main cast iron block with aluminum heads and GM's first reverse cooling system. A higher compression ratio afforded by that cooling system and batch-fire fuel injection is good for a solid 300 horsepower and 330 lb./ft. of torque. Tilt the hood on this Corvette and you'll find a clean engine bay that looks as good as the day it left the dealership. With just 2,722 miles, this motor has averaged a very easy 152 miles a year and has never been wrenched on, had any parts replaced or been taken apart. From the bottom of the spotless hood with built in clear courtesy lights to the top of the oil pan, everything is in like new condition and free of any sort of wear and tear.
Underneath, the car is just as clean as the engine bay. There's no weather damage at all and the chassis barely looks like its seen any time on the streets. Everything works, nothing's out of place or modified and there's nothing that needs attention. Naturally, the car retains its factory 700R4 automatic transmission. Up front the factory double A-arm suspension houses the cars factory power steering and power disc brakes. Out back, the factory independent rear suspension houses a second set of factory power disc brakes. Factory dual exhaust runs from original equipment manifolds into two rear mounted mufflers just before the exhaust tips. Seventeen inch machined aluminum 'turbine' style Corvette wheels have an excellent finish and wear the cars original 255/45/17 front and 285/40/17 rear Goodyear Eagle GS-C radials.
Drop into the Ruby Red leather sport seats and feel some of the best buckets ever put into any production car. Not only are these seats fully electric, they also house individual air bladders that are fully adjustable for an infinite number of custom settings. In front of you, a redesigned instrument cluster houses completely digital gauges that are backlit in glowing orange and would look right at home in a car that's half the age of this Corvette. The dash, with its upper half done in black plastic and its lower half covered in Ruby Red carpet, wraps around the driver and flows into the padded console hinting at 60s Corvette design. In the center of the dash, a high power Delco/Bose system sounds great even when cruising with the windows down and the top out and the usual conveniences are present throughout including accelerated slip regulation, heat and air conditioning, a trip monitor, lighted door handles, power exterior mirrors and a locking glove box. The Ruby Red carpet and rear hatch area are in excellent shape, and the plastic on the convertible cowl is looks factory fresh.
Documents included with this sale are the cars original owner's manual, a VHS tape included from the factory and miscellaneous dealer documents including instructional tags for various features on the car and Chevrolet service and warranty information.
