Description

If you're a Chevrolet aficionado, it doesn't get much better than owning a first-generation Camaro. That's because, regardless of year, every F1 shares a connection to the car that started a now legendary brand. To this very day, 1967-69 Camaros are highly desirable collectables that continue to be some of the most sought after classics on the planet. And this sweet custom, an exclusive, national award winning resto-mod, is a perfect example of why. Wrapping 540 cubic inches of ProCharged big block in a handsome nut-and-bolt build, it's an excellent tribute to the golden age of Motor City Muscle. And if you're looking for a unique collector car that you can drive, show off and watch appreciate, it's the timeless head turner you've been patiently waiting for!

SUNRISE OR SUNSET?

Clean, classy and ready to rock, this sculpted coupe's perennial profile was massaged back to life during a detailed, nut-and-bolt restoration. Like most F1s, the car was originally assembled at GM's storied Norwood manufacturing facility. And, like most restored F1s, its fit and finish presents much better now than it did 53 years ago. In fact, judging by the looks of this Chevy's smooth fuselage, there's no evidence it has ever seen any kind of catastrophic damage. And today, reflecting super glossy two-stage that looks an awful lot like Camaro Sunset Orange Metallic -- or maybe even Corvette Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic -- the car rolls as one spectacular classic that's superbly detailed!

Many enthusiasts believe the 1969 Camaro is both the pinnacle of muscle car design and the zenith of classic Chevy design. This choice token of mechanical expressionism kicks off with a familiar silver grille, which centers modern headlights and a familiar “Z/28” emblem above a polished bumper, LED parking lamps and a customized valance that's finished with a carbon fiber spoiler. A shaved header leads a tall Cowl Induction Hood, which leads chip-free glass that's sandwiched between bright wipers, bright frames and bright drip rails. The car's wide profile centers a billet mirror and billet Ringbrothers door handles between factory markers, simple rocker guards and more “Z/28” emblems. And at the back of that profile, a second polished bumper frames a factory spoiler, a fourth “Z/28” emblem and billet-trimmed LED taillights.

BIG BLOCK AND A BLOWER

If you think the exterior of this Chevy is impressive, you're going to LOVE what's under its hood! Built by the pros at Lancaster, Pennsylvania's RaceKrafters Machine, the car's brutal, 540 cubic inch big block is capable of twisting a massive 1,046 dyno-proven horsepower into 979 lb./ft. of dyno-proven torque. That rowdy stroker, presently tuned to a very drivable 800 horsepower, boasts a series of dressed tubes, which feed a polished ProCharger and a tweaked Holley blow-through 4-barrel. That carb, wired with Russel lines, a Marshall pressure gauge and a bright MagnaFuel regulator, feeds a coated Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake. That plane feeds 345cc Dart heads, which join dressed valve covers under a polished breather and tough ARP fasteners. A hot MSD Pro-Billet distributor sparks loomed Taylor wires, which thread massive Hooker Super Competition headers. Pliable belts spin a polished alternator next to Cloyes timing components and a serious CVR Proflo water pump. A polished radiator makes excellent use of an electric puller fan. And the smooth, body-matched engine bay looks great under a painted closeout, billet hood supports and dressed brace bars.

THE SAME BUT DIFFERENT

Flip this Panther upside down and you'll find thoughtfully undercoated floors that are a solid testament to years of weekend-only miles. The buff big block feeds an equally tough Tremec 5-speed, which spins a predictable 9-inch axle. That kit rides a proven Ladder Bar suspension that's finished with a Diagonal Link and adjustable QA-1 coil-overs. At the front of the car, a thick sway bar leads a factory subframe that's fitted with upgraded springs, Koni shocks and tubular control arms. At the corners of that chassis, drilled and slotted discs resist a quality Baer master cylinder to heat two Baer calipers and two GM calipers. Exhaust is managed by custom, true-dual pipes, which bark through rowdy Flowmaster mufflers and polished stainless tips. Power meets the pavement through attractive bonspeed LAGUNAs, which spin 26x8.00R18 Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/Rs in front of 28x12.00R18 Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/Rs. And this Chevy's roster of high quality detailing includes a stainless fuel cell, a deep oil pan, integrated subframe connectors, requisite mini tubs and a predictable scatter shield.

DIFFERENT IS GOOD

In keeping with this coupe's show stopping theme, interior outfitting is both tasteful and unique. The car's bolstered leather buckets, expertly coordinated in orange, blue and carbon fiber, are an excellent place to spend the weekend. Color-keyed carpet floats piped mats under billet foot pedals. A leather-capped dash sweeps AutoMeter Carbon Fiber Ultra-Lite telemetry over a custom, full-length console. That console centers a billet Ringbrothers shifter between a polished e-brake and crisp Sony audio. Textured door panels float billet handles between billet locks and billet jamb vents. The driver feels the road through a polished and half-wrapped Budnik steering wheel, which laps a polished, titling column. And a billet mirror fronts a tight headliner, which flows to a custom-upholstered trunk that's decked with billet hinges and a polished fire extinguisher.

A highly desirable custom that wraps a detailed, nut-and-bolt restoration around mind blowing power, this slick Camaro has a little something for everyone. And what's better: it's exactly the kind of classic that provides endless fun on the highway and celebrity status in the parking lot. Where else can you get such an excellent combination of style, performance and investment potential? Don't miss this opportunity to experience a stellar piece of American history!
