Ground Up Built '40 Ford Sedan 350ci V8 Automatic Air Conditioning
Hot rod builder Ray Brown's cars are known for their simplicity, stance and bulletproof reliability. This 1940 Ford is no exception. Starting with a rust-free, California car, Ray stripped it down to the component parts and began a truly stunning build. The goal was to create a car that's exterior and interior were as close to original looking as a Street Rod can be while providing modern performance and ride.
Under the hood lies a 350c.i. Chevy Crate V8 paired with a Turbo 350 automatic transmission, delivering smooth power through a Ford 8” rear end with a 2.79:1 ratio. The rust-free California body, painted in sophisticated Ford Cloud Mist Grey, is all steel and accented by original-style LeBaron Bonney interior.
The sedan's TCI independent front suspension, power rack and pinion steering, and power disc brakes provide comfortable handling, while a Dakota Digital cruise control system and discreet Custom AutoSound stereo with A/C controls add convenience. Powder-coated frame and suspension components enhance durability, and Wheel Vintiques steel wheels with Ford hubcaps complete the classic look.
Some customs are built for static shock and awe, and some are built to become stoplight to stoplight legends, but this '40 Ford, with the help of Ray Brown's vision, was built to be a timeless styled streetrod that performs as reliably and comfortable as a modern day car, while also collecting trophies at every cruise night. - If you are looking for a stylish streetrod that is an absolute joy to drive, give us a call today to make this one yours!
