Restored and Updated '69 Charger 426ci HEMI V8 4-Speed Dana 60 Air Conditioning
Few shapes stir the American V8 soul quite like the Coke-bottle curves of a 1969 Dodge Charger. Made famous by street racers and screen legends alike, the Charger has always carried an aura of outlaw cool. But what happens when you take that iconic silhouette, bolt in a date-correct 426 HEMI, and layer on just enough modern hardware to make it more usable than nostalgic? You get this: a restomod that looks ready for a Hollywood car chase but feels right at home carving corners or cruising to your favorite Saturday night show.
Finished in a striking shade of high-impact blue with painted white R/T-style stripes, the car features HEMI door callouts, a black vinyl roof, and a commanding stance on staggered Asanti wheels, 20” up front and 22” in the rear. The wheels are multi-piece with polished lips and carbon fiber-look faces, wrapped in 245/40ZR20 and 315/30ZR22 performance rubber.
While this Charger was born with a 383, that engine's long gone, replaced with a date-correct 426 HEMI V8 bearing the famed 2468330 casting number. It's dressed to impress with twin gold-plated Edelbrock four-barrel carburetors and a black serpentine setup driving a modern A/C compressor, power steering pump, and polished alternator. Cooling duties are handled by an aluminum radiator supported by dual electric fans
Power is sent through an A833 4-speed manual transmission and into a Dana 60 rear end fitted with 4.10 gears and Sure-Grip, delivering strong acceleration and that unmistakable old-school feel. The suspension consists of torsion bars up front and leaf springs out back, while stopping power is supplied by Wilwood 4-wheel power disc brakes, featuring cross-drilled and slotted rotors and red calipers.
Underneath, the car presents as cleanly as it does up top. The undercarriage is detailed with body-matched floor pans and gloss black suspension components. A custom dual exhaust system with an x-pipe, FlowMaster mufflers, and electric cutouts offers two personalities: quiet and refined or raw and aggressive, depending on your mood.
Inside, the white vinyl interior maintains a factory look with front bucket seats, a center console, and minimal upgrades to preserve its classic charm. Stewart Warner gauges offer modern reliability, while a neatly tucked aftermarket A/C system and AM/FM converter add just enough comfort for modern cruising. It's a pure muscle car experience, updated just enough to avoid the usual headaches.
This Charger is a strong-running driver with serious curb appeal and plenty of power to back it up. With a properly sorted drivetrain, upgraded braking, and classic looks, it delivers the muscle car experience without pretending to be a trailer queen. If you're after something fun, fast, and unapologetically old-school, this one checks all the right boxes.
