Ground Up Restored MacNeish Certified Camaro RS/SS 350ci V8 Muncie 4-Speed
This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS 350 represents one of the most desirable and well-documented first-year Camaros available today. Built in the first week of November 1966 at the Los Angeles (Van Nuys) plant, it retains its original cowl tag with factory-coded RS/SS 350 equipment, confirming its pedigree as an authentic Rally Sport and Super Sport 350 car.
The 1967 Camaro marked Chevrolet's introduction of the now-legendary 350 cubic-inch small-block V8, offered exclusively in the SS350 package that year. Factory-coded as the L48, this 350/295hp engine delivered impressive street performance and became the foundation for generations of small-block performance. When paired with the Rally Sport (RS) package, the result was an eye-catching, highly optioned Camaro with the best of both worlds: the hidden headlight RS styling and the serious SS performance upgrades.
Restored from the ground up to show quality standards by a previous owner known for multiple councours-level Camaro restorations, this car has been certified by noted expert Jerry MacNeish and scored an exceptional 984/1000 in American Camaro Association judging. It even served as a reference example for Buyer's Guides in two Hemmings publications, underscoring its accuracy and attention to detail.
The exterior showcases the correct Bolero Red paint with a factory-style painted white pinstripe and correct RS bumble bee nose stripe. It features proper RS/SS badging and trim, hidden RS headlights, and all the correct Rally Sport details. It also includes the optional rear-mounted antenna, front and rear bumper guards, and bright, show-quality chrome throughout. The car rides on 15-inch Rally wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires for a period-correct but road-friendly stance.
Under the hood is the numbers-matching L48 350ci V8, topped with a 4-barrel carburetor and detailed for show presentation. It is paired to its original Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle with 2.73 gears and Positraction. Factory options include N40 power steering and power brakes with J52 front discs and rear drums, delivering confident and authentic road manners.
The interior is equally impressive, featuring the factory Z87 Deluxe trim in Parchment and Black with excellent attention to correctness and quality. Highlights include the desirable center console with factory gauge package, fold-down rear seat, factory AM radio, Muncie shifter with black cue ball knob, and the classic 3-spoke SS-branded steering wheel. Every detail has been restored to factory specifications, creating an interior that feels like stepping into 1967.
This Camaro RS/SS 350 is truly one of the best examples on the market today: a numbers-matching, fully documented, expertly restored car with Jerry MacNeish approval and top-tier judging credentials. It is a potential best-of-show winner right off our showroom floor, restored and maintained by a concours-detail-minded enthusiast who ensured authenticity down to proper badge placement and factory-style finishes. In fact, it was used as the model for a 1:18 diecast from Auto World.
First-year Camaros of this quality are difficult to find. This is a rare opportunity to own an investment-grade, show-ready, and historically significant RS/SS 350 that checks every box for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
