Ground-Up Built Nova SS 6.2L LS3 Automatic DSE Chassis Air Conditioning
This 1967 Chevrolet Nova SS is a real-deal “118” VIN Super Sport that's undergone a no-expense-spared, multi-year frame-off, rotisserie restoration completed in 2024. Thoughtfully built from the ground up, it blends classic muscle car attitude with modern performance, clean execution, and the kind of finish work that holds its own on both the street and the show field.
Finished in Mazda's Artisan Red Premium, the body showcases a deep, candy-like hue that shifts subtly in different lighting…rich and bold from every angle. The bodywork remains true to its factory roots, but a few tasteful enhancements dial in the presentation. Kindig-it Design flush-mount door handles add a clean, custom touch, while a hidden fuel filler tucked behind the taillight keeps the quarters slick. The stance is aggressive but balanced, sitting over 18-inch Rocket Racing Attack wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires measuring 245mm up front and 295mm out back. Behind those wheels, Wilwood disc brakes at all four corners with red calipers and cross-drilled/slotted rotors provide serious stopping power to match the car's output.
Under the hood is a 6.2L LS3 crate engine, rated at 495 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque, backed by a 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission. The engine bay has been sorted for show-level presentation…Chevy Orange-painted block and heads, custom black and orange valve covers, clean hardware, strut-assisted hood hinges, and no unnecessary clutter. Power is fed to a Ford 9-inch rear end with 3.55 gears and Positraction, making it equally at home lighting up the tires or chewing through long stretches of open pavement. The chassis is serious business, built on a foundation of premium hardware from Detroit Speed Engineering. A DSE front subframe tightens up the front end, while the rear uses DSE's QUADRAlink system and mini-tubs, with DSE coilovers at all four corners to plant the power without compromising ride quality. Power rack-and-pinion steering and power-assisted brakes round out a driver-focused setup that brings modern dynamics to a vintage platform.
Inside, the cabin has been fully reimagined in custom tan leather, blending vintage lines with subtle modern touches. Power-adjustable bucket seats flank a custom-fabricated center console that offers storage, cupholders, and power window controls. The original dash design has been preserved but smartly updated with Dakota Digital instrumentation, Vintage Air climate controls, and a Sony touchscreen head unit with Bluetooth connectivity and a rear view camera. A set of plush burgundy carpets ties in the exterior color, while LED interior lighting enhances the ambiance throughout. Even the trunk has been fully finished to match, upholstered in leather and carpet with a custom 'SS' centerpiece for a high-end look.
Professionally assembled with an eye for both performance and detail. It's tight, fast, and mean when you want it to be, but easy to live with when you don't. The styling stays true to its roots, but everything underneath has been sharpened, modernized, and dialed in. It's a muscle car that doesn't need to beg for attention, it just gets it anyway. Raw power, clean lines, and real craftsmanship…this car is built to run.
