Ground Up Built C10 Custom 5.3L Supercharged LS V8 Automatic A/C Air Ride
Supercharged LS power, air ride stance, and classic Chevy sheetmetal. This 1972 C10 isn't built to hide in the background. It's built to turn heads and back it up with real performance. From the metallic green paint to the white cab top and polished trim, every detail was chosen to highlight the classic body lines while giving the truck a sharper, more modern edge.
The exterior has been finished to a high standard, with straight panels, even gaps, and a sharp two-tone scheme that plays well under the light. The body wears a rich green base coat accented by a white cab roof, and the paint itself carries a fine metallic flake that adds depth and character without looking gaudy. Polished chrome bumpers and stainless trim give the body the right amount of brightwork, while modern lighting and smoothed details refine the overall presentation. Out back, the raised bed floor was upgraded with custom red oak planks separated by polished strips, a traditional touch that hides a relocated fuel tank beneath.
The engine bay has been carefully detailed with smoothed inner fenders and color-matched panels that frame a 5.3L Gen IV aluminum V8. Identified by its 12571048 casting number, the block wears 799 cathedral-port heads and a factory-style LSA supercharger, a proven combination for power and durability. Supporting hardware includes a cold air intake, headers, electronic fuel injection, an aluminum radiator, and dual electric fans. The engine compartment is neatly finished with custom touches like billet hood hinges and hidden wiring, giving it a professional look that matches its performance. A stout 4L80E automatic overdrive transmission manages the power, feeding into a 12-bolt rear axle equipped with 3.73 gears and a limited-slip differential.
Underneath, a Porterbuilt front clip adds tubular control arms and modern geometry, while the rear frame has been stepped up to accommodate a full 6-link suspension. AccuAir management controls the truck's fully adjustable air ride system, allowing the driver to drop it to the ground for shows or dial in a comfortable ride height for the street. Staggered Billet Specialties Talladega wheels, 20 inches in the front and 22 inches in the rear, tuck neatly under the fenders when aired out. They're wrapped in low-profile performance tires measuring 255/35ZR20 up front and 285/35ZR22 at the rear. Power rack-and-pinion steering makes the truck responsive around town, while four-wheel disc brakes with modern calipers provide confident stopping power.
Inside, the truck blends classic pickup character with thoughtful customization. A two-tone bench seat trimmed in black vinyl and green plaid sets the tone, matched by custom door panels and color-keyed dash details. Dakota Digital gauges keep accurate tabs on the supercharged LS, while a tilt column and billet steering wheel provide a comfortable and precise driving position. Air conditioning brings modern comfort, and the Air Lift controller is mounted cleanly for easy operation of the suspension. Subtle tint on the glass and polished brightwork around the windows tie the look together, making the cabin as sharp as the exterior.
This 1972 Chevrolet C10 is a showcase of what makes custom pickups so appealing. It combines iconic Chevy design with a supercharged LS drivetrain, thoroughly reworked suspension, and a tailored interior. The result is a truck that has presence on the show field, performance on the street, and the kind of craftsmanship that turns a vintage hauler into a modern statement piece.
