Highly Original and Documented 1967 Corvette Survivor 427ci V8 4 speed Leather
The 1967 Corvette represents the final and most developed expression of the C2 Sting Ray, blending timeless design with big-block performance at its peak. This example, once part of the Hendrick Performance and Reggie Jackson collections, and later recognized through National Corvette Restorers Society judging, remains a true survivor, retaining its original structure, finishes, and character rather than being reset through restoration. Originally delivered new through E-Z Davies Chevrolet in Redwood City, California, it presents today as a Corvette preserved through careful ownership, offering a level of authenticity that cannot be recreated once lost.
Finished in its original coat of Marlboro Maroon, the body displays honest, age-appropriate character throughout. Rather than the overly flat, sharpened appearance common to restored examples, it retains the organic surfaces and aging expected of original fiberglass, with paint that shows honest wear and touch-ups from decades of careful ownership. Factory-ordered Soft-Ray tinted glass and black stinger hood are accented by the period-correct addition of side-mounted dual exhaust, reinforcing the car's preserved, period-correct presentation. That originality is immediately apparent in the way the doors and hood close with clean alignment and a solid, factory-correct feel, a tactile quality that is difficult to replicate once disturbed and a clear indicator of intact structure and proper assembly.
Power comes from the car's matching-numbers 427ci L36 V8 rated at 390 horsepower, equipped with a factory Holley 4-barrel carburetor. Backed by its matching-numbers Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission, power is delivered to a Positraction-equipped rear axle with 3.36 gearing, providing a balanced combination of strong performance and real-world drivability. Factory power steering and four-wheel power disc brakes further reinforce that this Corvette was ordered as a properly optioned, usable big-block Sting Ray.
Inside, the original Saddle leather interior remains intact and consistent with the car's survivor status, showing natural wear and patina that align with careful use over time. The odometer currently shows 22,655 miles, a figure supported by the condition of the seating, controls, instrumentation, and trim throughout the cabin. Details such as the factory-ordered AM/FM radio remain consistent with the car's original configuration. The presentation remains cohesive and honest throughout, reinforcing the car's reference-quality originality.
The car is accompanied by a strong documentation file that includes its original Protect-O-Plate, original Owner's Card, and the original dealership inspection sheet, along with a documented ownership history and NCRS judging sheets. Notably, the Corvette spent time as part of the Hendrick Performance Collection, where it was later acquired by Reggie Jackson for his personal collection. The current owner has since invested significant resources and $15K into careful stewardship and service of the car, resulting in its two-time recognition as an NCRS Top Flight Award winner. Together, its originality, provenance, documentation, and judged recognition place this 1967 Corvette firmly among the most compelling survivor C2s available today.
