Custom 1933 Buick Street Rod 455ci Big Block V8 Automatic Leather A/C
Retaining the recognizable silhouette of Buick's early-1930s luxury sedans, this professionally built 1933 Buick Sedan custom has been comprehensively reworked with contemporary performance components, an upgraded chassis, and show-quality detailing throughout. Representing a high-end custom street rod build that blends pre-war Buick styling with modern hot rod engineering and drivability.
The body has been refinished in striking House of Kolor Red Apple Kandy over Sterling Silver, creating a high-impact two-tone presentation that highlights the car's sweeping fenders and upright proportions. Exterior details have been refined with a smoothed appearance, complemented by a custom front valance, integrated bumper treatment, and a painted rear luggage rack. The stance is defined by staggered 18" front and 20" rear polished aluminum Budnick wheels wrapped in Toyo Proxes radial tires, while side-mounted spares add a period-correct visual element within the modernized design.
Power comes from a powerful Buick 455ci V8 fitted with Weber dual quad carburetors, an Offenhauser intake manifold, and Mallory ignition. That engine is paired with a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission, sending power to a heavy duty Strange 9" rear axle with 3.73 gearing and a limited-slip differential. The upgraded chassis incorporates tubular front control arms, tubular cross-bracing, and drop spindles, while the rear utilizes a 4-link setup with coilovers and an anti-sway bar. Dual stainless steel exhaust has been fitted with MagnaFlow mufflers. Power four-wheel disc brakes provide stopping capability, and a power rack-and-pinion steering system modernizes handling. The undercarriage has been detailed with painted floors and powder-coated hardware.
The cabin has been fully customized with a focus on comfort and integration of modern features, while retaining the character of the Buick's pre-war design. Suicide rear doors provide easy access to the custom tan leather interior, which includes power-adjustable seats, power windows, and a tilt steering column topped by a custom billet steering wheel. A modern air conditioning system is incorporated along with a dash-mounted Clarion AM/FM stereo system. Custom door panels and a reworked dashboard integrate classic styling cues with updated functionality.
Combining classic Buick styling with big-block V8 power, a fully upgraded suspension system, and modern comfort features, this 1933 Buick Sedan is a well-executed custom street rod with equal attention paid to presentation and drivability. The professionally detailed chassis, high-quality finish, and carefully selected performance components make it a standout all-steel hot rod and custom cruiser.
