Description

Ford has grown the fifth generation Mustang into a very impressive halo vehicle. And while all those improvements are great for true performance enthusiasts, it also means a surge in popularity and a lot of 'me too' buyers. So what does a guy do who doesn't want to own the same car as half a million of Fords most loyal customers? He picks up the phone, calls Roush Performance in Livonia, Michigan and orders a high profile tuner piece which provides more muscle under the hood, better handling and an impeccable pedigree that almost guarantees future collectability. With only 11, 507 miles on its digital odometer, this essentially new 2010 Roush Mustang 427R is a loud and proud beast that's perfect for anyone who wants to stand out in a sea of factory pony cars and wannabe tuner cars. Nobody knows more about getting a Ford around a racetrack quickly than Jack Roush, and if you're looking for modern performance machine that has the skills to back up its great looks, you've come to the right place.

Wearing vivid Grabber Blue paint under a spectacular white stripe package, 2010 Roush 427R number 334 has been in the care of one meticulous owner since new and presents excellent in every way. Its showroom fresh body is 100% straight with no history of accidents or damage of any kind. And a close look down the fuselage reveals not so much as a dent or ding anywhere. Roush's high quality paint and bodywork blend invisibly with the cars tight and glossy factory panels; and overall, this Mustang conveys a premium sense of collectability that, when combined with its excellent performance, creates one timeless and incredibly desirable modern muscle car.

Up front, a traditional Mustang grille holds a blacked out emblem between two crystal clear driving lights and two factory headlights. Below that grille, a custom Roush front valence hangs custom Roush lower valence lamps and functional cooling ducts above an aggressive and functional chin spoiler. At the top of the car, a factory Mustang GT hood wears an integrated Roush 427R center stripe between clean, “ROUSHCHARGED” decals while a chip-free factory windshield hangs a white “Roush” banner in front of tinted side glass and retro fiberglass quarter window covers. At the sides of the car, traditional Roush Performance emblems sit inside of swept “427R” decals which line up on the cars cowl and narrow as they run rearward above custom side splitters. And a three-piece trunk mounted racing spoiler is sandwiched between a small satellite radio antenna and two pristine factory tail lights. Between those tail lights, a custom Roush “427R” faux fuel filler emblem is centered beside a third pristine Roush Performance emblem. And below those tail lights, a one piece injection-molded rear bumper houses large stainless tips which are connected to a custom Roush Performance exhaust system.

Created as a turnkey package for enthusiasts who want a reliably engineered Mustang which unlocks the full performance potential of Fords 4.6 liter V8, the 427R utilizes an intercooled supercharger to crank out 435 horsepower and 400 lb./ft. of torque. Roush's patented ROUSHcharger is an Eaton style blower that sits atop the engine and exhales through a relocated and redesigned single core cross-flow intercooler which helps manage on-track temperatures. In front of the blower, a newly redesigned Roush air induction system provides a cleaner appearance and better efficiency; and below the blower, a familiar custom Roush Performance intake manifold complements Roush-exclusive molded hoses. Despite Fords 4.6 liter being a very strong engine as is, both a beefier cooling system and a recalibrated ECM were installed to better deal with the rigors of racing. On the radiator support you'll find a Roush Performance badge that lists the cars power output and verifies that this 427R is the 334th car to be built for the 2010 model year. And on the passenger's side inner fender you'll find a satin metal plate with the signature of the guy who assembled the engine. This 427Rs engine bay features Roush Performance's typical OEM style expertise, which was amped up even more for the 2010 model, and displays hardly any signs of usage at all. When the engine is fired up, the custom air intake combines with the awesome ROUSHcharger to provide a sinister whine at idle and an incredible roar from trackside.

The D2C platform is a very capable foundation which, with the added power from Roush Performance, makes this track ready Mustang a true force to be reckoned with. Behind the engine, a factory 5-speed manual transmission drives a rugged Ford 8.8-inch rear end which houses road course appropriate 3.55 gears. That stout drivetrain combines with a Roush tuned front strut and three link rear suspension to give the car long legs at the big end and good power out of the corners. Braking is handled by factory equipped front and rear discs that are aided by both Fords standard anti-lock system and recalibrated AdvanceTrac traction control; and the cars killer engine note is provided by a custom stainless steel Roush Performance catback exhaust system which is a 'no brainer' dealer installed option. At the corners, fantastic looking cast chrome Roush Performance 20 inch wheels spin super sticky 275/35 Dunlop SP Sport Maxx radials around cool red, white and blue Mustang valve stem caps. The bottom of this wicked 427R is super clean, shows no signs of abuse, and appears to have spent 80% of its life tucked away in a safe and dry garage, and 20% of its life serving as a pampered weekend cruiser.

Inside the excellent looking cockpit of this super cool Mustang, Roush Performance implemented subtle but tasteful upgrades which are immediately noticeable from both an appearance and performance standpoint. In front of the driver, custom Roush Performance gauges which feature silver readouts and bold “Roush” scripts. Beside the driver, a Roush branded short throw shifter features a white cue ball style Roush shift knob, and blends perfectly into the “Roush” branded center console. Under the driver, firm factory buckets, which are attractive black units with light stitching, were good enough to be left unaltered. And at the floor, red lit Roush Performance pedals hang over like-new black carpet which is protected by spotless “Roush” branded floor mats and bordered by satin finished and red lit Roush Performance sill plates. Behind the cockpit, the cars pristine trunk features a new “Ford Motorsports” mat and looks as good as the day the car was assembled. And naturally, all of the typical amenities that you would expect in a new Mustang are present and accounted for including Ford's SYNC system, climate control, a powerful Shaker audio system, cruise control, power accessories and red ambient lighting.

Documentation included with the sale of this 427R is the cars original owner's manual, the cars original Roush Performance window sticker, a supplemental Roush Performance owner's guide and supplemental Roush Performance paperwork.

This Grabber Blue 2010 427R, with its superb out-of-the-box abilities, is one of the most complete packages Roush Performance has ever produced. It'll tear up serious tracks, embarrass any number of vehicles without breaking a sweat, and drive you home in leather-lined comfort all in the same day.
